Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

Hello everyone. My dog Teddy is going to be a year next month. He has had a dark black nose since he was born. His nose is starting to become a lighter color. It almost looks pinkish. I have seen dogs who have lighter noses before but i thought they were born with them. Is it normal for a dogs nose color to change or does anyone have any idea why it would all of a sudden change color?

Very common, especially in winter. It's called "Snow Nose"
Okay thanks for the info.
My Scampy's nose is exactly the same !!! I thought it was from all the cat swats he takes....never seems to learn lol
Lighter colored golden retrievers and labs have noses that start out as dark black and then can switch to a lighter more "rusty" colored button. Not all goldies and labs noses do it, but it is very common in the golden retriever blondes and creams and the lighter yellow labs. My Connor is apricot, but his button is starting to change from dark black to a kind of rust color as well. :-)
Love those pink noses!
Yes he is an apricot goldendoodle so i guess its just getting lighter, probably from the snow like Adina said.
I have heard this is called a winter nose.
