Ok, so I wasnt home this evening but while I was gone, Oliver (who is 10 months old, and about 60 lbs.) ate some stuffing out of his toy... my husband grabbed what he could but Oliver then threw up 2 times, once I was told with nothing but liquid, the second time some of the fluff came up. Now I do not know how much he ate, but his toy still has a lot left in it (and is now in the garbage) but is this something I should panic about?? It truly bothers me as I dont know how much he ate. He is acting fine now, has drank water, and ate, but I am just worried! Anybody have any suggestions, or just watch and wait type of a thing? -- Thanks again- any comments appreciated!
This stuffing does make them sick if they eat it-I don't understand why they have to stuff these dog toys now. My previous dog Buddy used to ingest this stuffing and it made him "sick as a dog" no punn intended. He usually would get mild diaherrea the next day. Vet said-not to worry.
I hope you are right! I know if cats ingest things it can be bad, but again, I dont even know how much he got down....if any especially since I wasn't home, thanks though, the discussion will at least help me through the night, and I will also hope all is well in the morning!! If not I will be calling the vet :(
We found an unstuffed, plush animal. 98% stuffing free. The head has stuffing and a squeaker and the feet have squeakers. Samantha goes nowhere without her 'Moo'. I always have an extra on hand just in case Moo's head gets a hole - that's when she pulls out the little stuffing it has and the squaker, which is the size of a fist so it doesn't get swallowed too easily.
Oliver, Oliver, Oliver...you silly dog!
Breathe....
Oh, if I could count the times that Cayenne has eaten stuffing out of a toy! She's always been fine but I do remember the first time she got into something that she shouldn't have. She did the same thing, got sick twice within about 1/2 and I panicked, called an emergency vet (it was a Sunday night) and they calmed me down, well somewhat. I spent the night worrying about every move she made. There didn't seem to be any residule problem.
This last CHristmas I bought First-Aid Companion for Dogs and Cats. It's got solid information. I bought it at Barnes and Noble. It's just calming having it in the house.
Keep us posted.
Well, so far so good this morning, he went and did all of his business outside, all looks well........I am still a little nervous, but no vomiting since the initial.... its funny though, Oliver already has a moo, but he just loves bigger toys (than moo!) I am thinking I am just going to have to get out the sewing machine and make a large non stuffed one for him! Hopefully the day goes on uneventful with him, he does seem fine, and I hope it doesnt change!
