We always figure a way to get what we want and then the DH take credit for it!!
I love that picture!! We drove by a horse and Samantha barked like crazy.
yeah, you would thinkthat after all these years they would have figured out just how damned smart we DM are!!

Ozzy entered my life when my dog that was 4 years old died of pancreatitis.. I was heartbroken (still am) I could not go into my kitchen because my dog was missing. Doodles look like soft coated wheaten terriers so that is why I wanted one but was not ready for one that had her color. Since Ozzy I feel in love with the doodle and now I have Zoey, she is the color of my wheaten. I still miss her but Ozzy and Zoey have sure filled the big empty whole that had and now some of the pain is starting to fade. Woody my older dog was also depressed when she died, he need a dog too!
this is the greatest picture. Just the greatest!!!!! I cant wait - only 2 1/2 wks until new puppy comes home for Fergie. You'll see lots of pics.
i bet you are so excited I know I would be cant wait also to see the pictures
Can't wait to meet Zoey!! Maybe next weekend???????
WE got willy on July 6, 2009 and it was one of the best things I have done with my daughter, my DH refs soccer and she was going off to school and I was lonely I needed to take care of someone and then Willy came into our lives, he has brought so much pleasure expect for when he is grabbing pillow and trying to get the stuffing out of them. The kids love him and all of our neighbors just Love Willy How can you not love that face

you would have to have a heart made out of steel!
We already had two wonderful dogs and weren't looking for a third, BUT we were camping and I saw a lady with the cutest dark red dog. Can you picture a 58 year-old lady chasing someone down a campground road?? That's exactly what I did. Obviously the lady understood doodle obsession because, although they were checking out, she told me all about doodles, gave me her e-mail address so I could contact her about breeders, and let me pet her wonderful F1B mini. I immediately went on-line with my new laptop (I had never brought a computer camping before but it must have been fate...) and googled labradoodles. My DH was totally on board with all of this! The one thing we decided upon was that we needed to keep the size down because 3 big dogs in an RV is just really, really hard ( my son and daughter-in law often come with us and they have an over-sized Doberman and a 28 pound Whippet). I e-mailed breeders and one called me and helped me find a breeder in the campground area who had minis. On the way out of town, we stopped and looked at puppies. My DH fell in love with Ned immediately, but we wisely went home to consider (and find some money!). Well, we waited 5 days before we broke down and called the breeder. We made a 5 hour road trip to get Ned and haven't regretted it once. Ned cuddled in my lap the entire 5 hours home with only one potty stop. What a predictor for our great traveler. He doesn't mind worth beans but he brings so much pleasure into our mostly empty nest. Now, if only he didn't mat... My next doodle .......
My college advisor's wife bred Siberian Huskies ( and still does). It was my then fiancee's first real experience with dogs, except mine, a German shorthair pointer. Because they are so beautiful, he tought maybe he could tolerate a Siberian. When we arrived at our first home together over 2000 miles from our growing up homes, he found me a free 3 year old "Siberian" ( half Shepherd half Malamute -but he looked exactly like a black and white Siberian who grew way too big) because I was already so homesick.

Forty years and several dogs later, we were facing putting to sleep Thor, my beloved red Siberian. He was epileptic and at eight years old his seizures were really out of control, his brain stem tumor was growing fast, and he spent most of his days disoriented. When Thor was three to four, this dog spent 12 months with me, mostly on the bed with me, and never out of the room, except to potty, while I was suffering from, being diagnosed and recovering from a debilitating back injury. As my recovery continued and for the rest of his life he rarely left my side. When Thor went over the rainbow bridge, we still had our darling 15 year old black and white Sibe. She was as bereft as I was, we needed a puppy. I simply could not face "replacing" Thor with another Sibe. My DH is highly allergic to dogs (Siberians interestingly are non allergenic), so that was the first criteria. I had seen a chocolate labradoodle at a doggie daycare and fallen in love. Research lead me to the Australian Labradoodle as the most apt to be totally non allergenic, with the look of that lovely chocolate doodle. Better yet, ALDs came in sizes. A full grown standard poodle or lab would have been to much for my wacky back to manage. So in Dec of 2007 we adopted Roo and in July of 2008 his full brother, Tigger. My heart is full again. I will always love Siberians, but I can get my "fix" at my son's home, he has three. Roo and Tigger make us laugh, talke us for walks and help us meet other wonderful Doodle people.
We had a cock-a-poo for 16 years and had to get her put down due to heart problems. I was lost without her. It only took me 2 weeks to know I was not going to live without another dog. I seen a picture of a GD and fell in love with them. I guess I should of read more about them (shedding or not) but told my DH they do not shed and it is in my nature that I need to have something to care for. ( He comes home from work and goes to the barn) & ( my son is grown with a family ) So with some tears, I got to get Lilly.. She is a joy!!! Everyday she makes me laugh. I take more pictures of her then I do my grandchildren. (I guess I should'nt tell people that)hee-hee DH wants to know why she sheads..ooops! I would get another one in a heart beat, hairballs and all. :) My nest has some life in it now.
That is exactly how we feel. I take hundreds of pics of her and most are awful - but I love each of them. My human kids get a ittle bent out of shape with all the attention Samantha gets but too bad - they had their undivided attention from me their entire lives - now it is Samantha's turn.
