My Misty, who will be 6 months old tomorrow, was spayed on March 9th and she hasn't been herself since. She went in at 40 lbs. and she's already down to 35 lbs. She's lethargic and throwing up (not as much now, as before) She also isn't eating her dog food at all. She'll eat other stuff we give her, but sometimes she even refuses steak. She hasn't had a bowel movement since Monday (4 days ago). The vet has been monitoring her and he's giving her shots of antibiotic every 2 days. I'm starting to wonder if she has some sort of allergic reaction to the antibiotic. I'm so worried about her. Has anyone dealt with this, in the past, with their baby girl? I just want to see her get excited about something.

I'm hoping and praying, because the alternative is not a good one. Thank you, I appreciate that.
I am praying for your Misty! Keep us informed!
Oh I'm so sorry to hear of this! I hope little Misty is doing better. Garden St Vet has a good reputation - I had to take Dexter there once and they seemed to have all the advanced technologies available. I hope she improves!!
Karen,
I'm so sorry that you and Misty are going through all this. It sounds like she is in good hands. I am sending you lots of doodle hugs and kisses. Keep us posted.

I am sorry to hear about your Misty...
I am praying for her to recover soon....
Hi Karen,
Just a suggestion, but I have found that sometimes putting a little plain yogurt or cottage cheese over their food and mixing it around helps a lot. It also helps their digestive systems and for them to go potty. This is also just a suggestion to have her stomach xrayed in case of a blockage, dogs will act this way if they have blockages. Please keep us all informed on how your pup is doing and prayers for Misty and family.
Karen I just read about Misty. I am sooo very sorry. I will keep her in our prayers, and you. Keep positive thoughts and we will all pray Misty will recover from all of this. Please keep up updated.
Just caught up on your post...I'm so sorry to hear Misty's having such a rough time =(. Sounds like she's in good hands at the hospital now, so hopefully she'll be in great shape soon!
I needed to stop by the forum today to see how Misty is doing. Thanks for keeping us updated.

Ok, here's the update and it's a total surprise. Misty just came out of emergency surgery, to remove part of her liver that was twisted. I just got the call from the surgeon. There was an issue with her blood pressure, but they stabilized her. Now we have to just wait 24 hours to make sure she can get through this and start on her road to recovery. They feel that this was the cause of her sickness. If I can get through this night without getting a phone call, I'll be ecstatic. That poor baby. She has been through so much. Thank you all and I'll update you tomorrow.
I am so sorry Karen! I didn't know a liver could twist? Nonetheless, i surely hope that Misty pulls through this! We're all thinking about her. Thanks for the update, I hope to hear better news tomorrow!
