I looked through Doodle Grooming looking for advice on best type grooming table and found nothing. Is adjustable height an advantage? Any good place to buy? Homemade? Let's discuss this!

This is the one I have. I like it very much but Rosco is almost too big for it.

I got totally overwhelmed with the different kinds of tables. Adjustable, not adjustable and the price - didn't want to spend it. Someone gave me the idea, I believe it was Dana, to use Samamtha's crate as the base for a grooming table as long as I didn't need it to be adjustable. I was at Home Depot today and I dedicded I could purchase a piece of MDG (is manmade and very smooth edges). They told me they would cut the piece to the size I want) The MDF is app $10.00. I am going to get some kind of rubber mat, nail it down and lay it on top of the crate. That will be my new grooming table. I am going to invest in the arm attachment so she will stand still.
The only concern I have is how to get her on and off the table without lifting her. That is for another brainstorming session.
I use a metal mechanics bench [just a cheapy] and I put a larger wood top on it. I like the work bench because it is 42 inches high and easy on the back. If you want a high table, teach your dog to use a chair to get onto the table. Start by teach it to get off the table with the chair. My biggest girl just hops up herself.
Adina, do you use the adjustable leg feature much? So far these are all excellent ideas! I thought of an office depot table, but figured by the time I got the arm, rubber pad, etc. it would add up to almost the price of one! The adjustable height would allow one to sit for a while....don't ever remember sitting while grooming....but that was years ago!
I sit for doing feet on an adjustable mechanics stool. Most of the time, I stand.
I bought a Hanvey Adjustable table with arm that goes all the way to the other side. I need it because I am doing many dogs of all sizes but it is a nice table. It's 42'' long for my taller doodles. Hanvey comes recommended to me. It runs about $150 so that might be a bit expensive. You just don't want to buy junk, you don't want them falling off because the table broke.
