My new australian labradoodle (8 months old) is acting perfectly fine and perky but has a hot nose...I am wondering if anyone knows if this is really a sign of illness or an old wive's tale. She has an appointment at the vet next Tuesday for a routine visit, so i can ask about it then. I just thought someone may have info. sooner.

Oski's nose will be warm & dry if he's been sleeping. Then when he wakes up it's all wet again. I suspect it's because he doesn't lick his nose in his sleep lol. It'll be interesting to see what other people think :)
the nose is the wrong end to check.... : )

Check your dogs annal temp, it shouldn't be over 102.5... 100-101 is normal, dogs are warmer than we are.
