Labradoodle & Goldendoodle Forum

For the past month or so I have been checking websites for doodles that need rehomed. (Golden, Lab or Aussie) I have been talking to a breeder about a 11 week old puppy but I would really like to adopt. I must say that any of the doodles I have been interested in have anywhere from 2 to 8 applications. Even though it makes it difficult for me to find one that needs adopted I am glad someone wants to offer them a good home! Alot of the doodles live so far away there is no way to even consider them. Has anyone else had a hard time finding a doodle to adopt? I'm going to try a little while longer....maybe I'll get lucky!

Hugs to you, and AMEN!
That is the goal. As a "Collective", we have more strength and power. To aid, to educate, to learn. Those of us in rescue can only hope every owner is as caring as those here on DK.
Hi Ann....Just posted a bunch of available doodles in Ohio.......
Thank you for all your help...going to check it out right now!
Hi Ann,
I pulled my response because Gracie was placed Saturday. You must have gotten it anyway. I thought she was just perfect for you and so close. I spoke with the rescue that had her. Do not get discouraged. The people that got her were from Michigan and they were NOT the first application that came along. They actually conducted personal interviews with the dog and the applicants. The DOG made the choice about who it would like to go live with. The rescue listen to the response of the dog! Interesting and hats off to the hard work at this rescue.
I have information on Doodle Puppies up in my area for 750.00, bred by a vet and his wife about a mile from my home. ( Can't be to bad if a vets are breeding them--they should be healthy). Both parents on site and both are the vets personal pets. If you want that info leave me a message and I will forward it to you. I would also be willing to go see the puppies. I believe though you are 2.5 hours away in travel time.

Spud is 5 months old and 37 lbs. He is extremely sweet and easy going. Of all the dogs I have had, I can not believe my luck with him. I think he feels the same way about us. He is happy and well adjusted and I am proud to have him.

Don't give up--I know I stated my frustrations about the whole " new business" of adopting dogs. I was quite discontent, although I truly do feel you have the best resources here on doodle kisses, idog, and with DRCC <-- I am impressed with all thier efforts.

I'm excited for you and your doodle because I feel good things are going to happen when you least expect it.

Thanks for writing back and keep in touch my new friend.
Hi Joanne,
Thanks for the information on the breeder and offering to check out the puppies. It was truly a generous offer! I will keep your offer in mind. Yesterday I talked to a couple breeders close to me. I am deciding which breeder I may get a pup from. I have not ruled out adopting yet.

Wow! Spud sounds big! (I love the name) Sheba is close to 5 months old. A couple of weeks ago she weighed 23 lbs. She will be smaller than I expected. I hoping she'll be close to 40 lbs full grown...but I could be wrong!

Again, thank you for your help and encouragement! I'll let you know what I'm going to do. Keep in touch!
