DESPERATE FOR GROOMER REFERALS

Hi everyone! I just e mailed this message out but then I thought I should probably post it on Portland group as well so I apoplogize for the redundancy. I'm pretty desperate! Joey has developed huge (it feels like 3-4 inches) wads of matts on both his front legs that go right up to his skin seemingly overnight. In retrospect, I now realize that I wasn't combing/brushing him close enough this whole time and I feel like the worst momma ever! I am so sad about having to take him to the groomers as I am sure my only option is to have his beautiful coat shaved down... Anyone with any Portland groomer referals? I know I need to get this taken care of ASAP. Thx!

Hi everyone,
SInce I just joined this group and saw this chain I thought I would add to it. Louie is almost 1 year now and his mats were so bad a month or so ago I took him to be groomed at Rock Creek Vet clinic on 185th. They did need to shave him, which I expected, but did a great job, all for $55. He looks quite handsome even though he's lost all his beautiful long hair. Another LD owner told me about Salon K9, a mobile groomer. She liked them and since they come to the house it is less stressful on the dog. I don't like having to leave Louie for several hours.
Our breeder (Rochelle at Spring Creek ) told us that the adult coat process is so bad that shaving is the best. One of Louie's brothers was also recently shaved. Cool for the summer too.
