Well....personally....I could never use the cover, because my babies get too hot if all the airflow around them is cut off except for the front of the crate. They sleep with a ceiling fan all the time but...we do live in Texas! I could actually see where someone in a cold area might like the cover. It all looks very cozy...but a crate pad alone might be all you need. Fenway would probably chew the bumpers.
I'm not sure you would need those things, just more to chew on. The crate I bought for Max is called life stages and is big enough for him as an adult but came with a divider for when he was a puppy. I put a bath towel in the crate for him to sleep on and easy to launder.
Oh and if you see my post about being up all night...it might explain why I didn't catch the crate cover, bumper and pad thing the first time around. I feel like a dope....but at least I have sleep deprivation to blame it on! =)
Hannah has a crate pad and I put a blanket over it for her, she loves this and also has her own quilt on the floor, Honey, she hates them, does not even like the quilt on the floor, she perfers a plain crate. They hate their crates coverd even in the winter time, they want to see and are warm enough without a cover. Bumper pads would be a waste of money with them, Honey would probably eat them and Hannah wouldn't much care. Personally I think a crate pad is enough, at least for my doodles.
