Noah loves all types of dogs, but his favorites are shih tzus. Every time one comes into the park, he gets so excited and usually chases the shih tzu around the park trying to hump! I'm curious to see what types of dogs other doodles prefer to play with.
I have no clue why, but Gunner loves German Shepherds. If he sees 20 dogs, that is the first one he goes to. He will run past a doodle or a retriever to get to one, however he loves all dogs, big or small. He just wants to play & thinks all of them want to play with him...
My daughter has a miniature poodle (who is quite bitchy) and both my guys LOVE to torment her....she HATES them both and they love to chase her and tease her. My son has a bloodhound and they both love to play with him....but he has that "hound smell" and if they play with him, it is straight to the bath!
Cody will play with ANY and every type dog. He has 3 very special friends. Alfred a very small Kearn Terrier, Ziggy a giant black goldendoodle and his very best friend, Uli, a 150 lbs great dane. When they see each other from way across the dog park, they run to each other like boyfriend and girl friend. What really amazes me is how Cody can play with small dogs and not hurt them (Cody is 65lbs) and giant dogs.
Skeet ignores most dogs except to growl and let them know they are not welcome in the yard. However our neighbor just
got a goldendoodle puppy and he absolutly is making a pest of himself. He looks for this puppy and is so happy to see and play with him. I have to watch him or he will run inside their house if the door is open. This from a dog that would not let the neighbors pet him until they got this puppy.
Kona loves all dogs who want to roll around and play, no preferences ;) Buddy loves, loves, loves Golden Retrievers! He is under their spell when the arrive at the dog park!
Gracie is partial to one particular Aussie Mini LD at our dogpark. When her friend is there, no one else exists!!! She tends to shy away from Boxers and some shepherds.
I also think most adult dogs really like puppies of all breeds, or at least tolerate them. Jack usually doesn't like GSD's, or other similarly colored dogs with prick ears. But one of his best friends is the biggest male shepherd I've ever seen, because Jack met him when the shepherd was 4 months old. He still gets excited to see him and tries to wrestle with him, even though Tank now weighs 110 lbs!
Hartley loves anything that is bigger than him! (Which isn't always easy as he is 75 pounds!!). At the dog park he will always bee-line straight for the largest dog there, and his play mates have included Rhodesian Ridgeback, Italian Mastiff, Great Dane, enormous male Lab... basically anything big!! He is not interested in small dogs apart from chasing them if they are daft enough to run past him barking, and he is suprisingly fast.
The love of his life though is a female black lab in our neighborhood, they play and play (wrestle) until they are exhausted and then lie with their paws resting on each other, it is so cute to see.
Haha! My parents have a shih tzu that does not like other dogs. Our goldendoodle, Timbow, met Mushu(their shih tzu) in March and loved him! Too bad poor mushu didn't feel the same. The funniest part though is that Timbow chased after Mushu's tail!! He thought it was a new toy and I don't think realized it was attached to Mushu. Maybe Noah is attracted to the tail too!
At the dog park, Ned seems to like smaller dogs - especially doodles or poodles his size to romp with as well as his cousin, the lab. He love to wrestle with other medium doodles best. However, Ned is definitely breed/size
blind when it comes to making friends at the dog park!
I would like to think that Kensi' fav breed is Schnauzer b/c she just got a little baby sister named Heidi that is a Schnauzer! It is hilarious and somewhat nerveraking to see lanky 54lb Kensi playing with 11 week old 6lb Heidi. So fun!
