Because I give frequent baths due to hiking and jeeping in dusty red dirt out west and now that he is swimming in the ocean almost everyday, I had to find something that was gentle enough to use often. I found Chris Christensen products to work very well, No problems with his skin and his hair is so silky soft after a bath. It;s called Day to Day shampoo and has a conditioner as well. Read about it here on DK in the grooming group
I have been using Pantene 2 in1. I bathe her at least once a month and she hasn't had dry skin at all. Her hair is always really soft afterwards.
I use Les Poochs Hypoallergenic Shampoo & the Hypoallergenic Creme Rinse on our 4 doods. Their coats feel great afterward & it is fragrance free.
Johnsons No More Tears!! But, they only get bathed once in a blue moon. If they were to be bathed more often, I would probably look for a more dog specific one!!
Jane - does the Blueberry work pretty well? Brooksy's face and paws get grass staind and just saliva staind...wondering if you notice a significant difference?!?
I use Double Blessing's Goat's Milk Shampoo Bar. It is AWESOME! Made from all natural ingredients, and doesn't strip the hair of it's natural oils. Plus it's a bar, so you use less and lose less! Website: www.dbgoatsmilk.com
Jack gets bathed every 7-8 weeks with Douxo Calming Shampoo, specially formulated for dogs with dry itchy skin or allergy problems. I have tried others, including one from his specialist, and this is really the best.
I use Chris Christensen Day to Day system for more frequent baths. I like Mink Sheen when they are bathed once a month.
We use Minksheen by Touch of Mink http://www.touchofmink.com/prod_details.asp?id=15

they make human products too

Groomer's formula for a "show" quality coat

MinkSheen Pet Shampoo's rich lather will gently clean your pet without leaving it's skin dry or irritated. Mink Oil leaves a soft, shiny, "show" quality coat, while Vitamin E soothes and prevents "hot spots". The Cedar and Citronella oils will naturally repel fleas and ticks while leaving your pet smelling great for days!

The added benefit of an anti-bacterial will protect both you and your pet from the spread of harmful germs and bacteria. Used nation-wide by professional groomers that want a safe, gentle, natural shampoo..........

Dog's have different PH levels so using human shampoo is not the best for their skin or coat
I didn't know they made human products. I use MinkSheen all the time on Molly, it makes her coat soft & shiny. She smells great also. I use CC on Abby when she does therapy visits, it has less of a scent.
We do therapy too and have never had anyone mention the smell of the MS
Do you know what the pH difference is? I hear this all the time but I know a lot of human shampoos claim they are pH balanced and my understanding (guess) is that that means 'neutral' pH??
