Hi! I brought home my baby from my breeder two days ago. She free fed Kirkland's dog food. I need to know how much I should give Angel, who is 11.9 Lbs, according to the vet yesterday, as the vet recommended feeding her in meals. Does anyone have a bag they can look on please? Also, how long do I wait before attempting to switch Angel to Chicken Soup? Thanks!
All I know is teri said feed 100% first day then 75% kirkland and 25% new food the next, and then 50 50 and so on. She said I can start this the day we brought her home. Is angel eating her kirkland??
Yes, it's the puppy food. She is 8 weeks old. I fed her 1/4 cup at a time today, but I fed her 3.5 times today (She only ate half of what I gave her the 4th time...) She seems to like it, but I would like to know how much I SHOULD be feeding. After all, I don't want her to get tummy trouble from over-eating...
She should be getting 2-3 1/3 cups per day. I know when I brought Kona home he didn't eat nearly the reccomended amount on his own. He would leave some in his bowl (about 1/4 to 1/2 cup at each feeding). I had to coax him to eat it or I used it as treats for training during the day. After about 2 weeks he started to inhale his food and now eats like a champ!!!
I looked on my Kirkland Adult dog food bag and it says for 10 pounds to feed 3/4 of a cup however it says that they recommend free feeding puppies. We fed Ned puppy food but we didn't worry too much about how much because he isn't piggish. We did try to keep his puppy food separate from the adult dogs - that was not fun, but occasionally getting into adult dog food didn't hurt him.
