My little girl is 6 months old and is need of prayers. She got in to my trash when I left the room when gathering all the trash in the house. She started getting very sick the next day and vomiting. By the time we figured out what had happened, it was almost too late and may still be. The vet found 2 tampons that passed her stomach into her small intestine. She had a blockage. The tampons somehow got tied inside of her. They got them out, but things still didn't look that good inside of her when they closed her back up. She had surgury yesterday(Tues) and is in seroius condition. Day 3-5 will be the days that if something is going to happen it will.

Hi Nikki ~ I am just catching your story. I am so sorry you and your wee one are enduring this, but awfully glad all is looking bright at this time. I suspect that if they have indicated a possible release of Saturday that they are padding the caution time as a precautionary measure. I have a breeder friend whose expectant dog ate a nylon leash and part of a pair of swimming goggles. Surgery was required and not only did she recover well but she delivered a full litter of healthy, robust puppies when they were due! Hang in there, take comfort in all of the prayer warriors who are standing in for you and get those fingers ready for recapping many more tales, hopefully without such risk taking behavior =)
Did the items pass to her small intestine or were they in her stomach???? The vet said if they would of been in the stomach it wouldn't be as big of an issue. Thanks for the thoughts.
so happy to hear your update! I am sure that her eating and walking around is a very good sign!!
Macy is in our thoughts and prayers! Wishing her a speedy recovery!

Thanks for the updates Nikki. I thought about you many times last night and this morning! It is a good sign that Macy is eating and very happy to see you!

I relayed your story to my boyfriend. I am always preaching to him about being careful with our doodles! My almost 6 month old GD is notorious for bringing stuff in the house in her mouth without our noticing, mulch, small sticks, clumps of grass etc. The other night I let the dogs in after a potty break and they started to play. My GD had a huge matted furball from our long-haired outdoor cat. I didn't even see her carry it in! It was so big I went outside to see if Twinkie (the cat) was OK..she was. I don't know if it would have hurt either one of the pups if it was swallowed but I was concerned. Either one of them could have easily choked on this whopper of a furball. As much as we all try to be careful, accidents do happen!

Take care and best wishes!
Thanks for all the prayers. When we saw Macy tonight she about swallowed the bowl when they fed her. She still vomited 2x's today and no bowel movement yet. I may get to bring her home tomorrow afternoon. I will be soooo happy. We still need to pray through out the weekend. Thanks to everyone.
We wont be stopping our prayers until she is home and healthy!!
Oh, I am so glad to hear she is doing much better!!
