Mandy will sit on our feet, just plops her bottom down on them like they are cushions! If we are standing up anywhere she will lean against us and looks surprised when we move like we distrubed her rest.
Both of my doodles do this, but Dustin, the goldendoodle does it the most. He always picks the most inopportune times to do it too like when I'm cooking in the kitchen and having to move around a lot. Sometimes while he's down there he'll even give my feet a little lick just to make sure they're clean enough for him to lay on I guess. Silly doodles!
Our Gracie Doodle leans into us all the time. She will just come up and stand next to me and then lean into me. I feel badly when I go to move because she is so relaxed that she usually acts surprised. I tell people that she is "hugging" me. Somehow I feel that is their way of hugging us. Gracie is a F1 Standard Golden Doodle so she is a tall girl!! I love it when she hugs! Also, if she is standing on our bed and I put my arms around her neck she will lower her head and rest it on my shoulder. I can feel her full weight just rest on me. Again...HUGGING!!! :)
Duff also leans against anyone giving him attention or sits on my feet to be close, which I especially appreciate in the winter. I once babysat for a little girl whom had a humungous St. Bernard that also did this...the difference was that if the Saint Bernard did it to you, you were stuck against the wall for a while until someone helped you out (he must have been pushing 200 lbs).
Yes! Wrigley sits on my feet and leans all the time! Reading all of these posts crack me up b/c it is so funny how they all do these crazy things. Gotta love them!
I know, I am surpised at all the things Mandy does that other doodles do too. Dogs I have in the past don't do all these things, maybe one or two. They are a great source of love and entertainment.
I was laughing because Leo is always touching, leaning or placing his head on one of us. I just joined this group, as I was reading all of the discussions it amazes me how much alike these dogs are.
Zeke used to sit on my feet a lot when he was a smaller puppy but not so much now that he is 1 year. But.....today we are having a new roof put on and both dogs are beside themselves with all the noise and activity. When the roofers first arrived I finally got them calmed down but they followed me everywhere I went in the house and Zeke would sit on my feet whenever I was still. He usually is a very confident doodle and nothing scares him much but he needed his momma to comfort him this time. Lily seemed to do just fine as long as I acted like nothing was going on. They both got used to all the noise and were even able to nap. I sure miss that close contact though.
