I thought you might enjoy a mental picture that we may face through the night. We live in Central Florida and TS Fay is making her way through. The biggest concern is tornadic activity. So in evaluating our "safe" room, I realize the population at our house has changed much since our last use. We have a VERY small bathroom in our house with oh maybe 3 x 5 feet of floor space. Now picture this ~ 1 adult, 2 children, 4 grown doodles ranging from 48 lbs to 80+, 6 - 5 month puppy doodles and let us not forget 3 cats. Are you seeing it yet? I'll be sure to squeeze a camera in there should we need to occupy it so that you can see the real thing ~ and no I am not doing any dress rehearsals : )
Oh yes, as a matter of fact 2004 was the last time we were in it as a 'safe' room. So funny that you moved from FL to OH, a million years ago (or so it seems) I being born and raised in OH ran to FL! Thanks for the well wishes, power is still on obviously : )
I am so glad that you have a sense of humor as you brace! It will go a long way to keeping the sanity of it all! I hope you don't have any photos ... meaning you didn't need to all cram in there!
I'm from Ohio, was there last weekend actually, and my parents fled to FL too just like all good Ohioans are programmed to do! I'm resisting though, VA is almost far enough south for me!
Thanks for the well wishes! Well I have no photos to share with you of the 16 of us crammed in the bathroom because we did not need to - maybe we will try a drill though just for fun : ) Fay does still plague us, rain & wind even delayed flights this morning. Thankfully the plane finally left though and our latest boy is on his way to his forever home in California. I am sure you will hear all about him from his family soon.
