Trying to plan a family trip to San Diego for a couple of days this summer. We've gone to the usual spots (Sea World, Legoland, etc.) but I think being able to bring our GD with us this time is something that we are strongly considering.
I know that there are sites to search for this kind of thing but I would love to hear from anybody who's used the hotels/ccomodations first hand.
Hi...I live in San Diego so I have no reason to stay anywhere but once when we had to "termite" our house we went to the Paradise Point Resort on Mission Bay with our dog. That was years ago so I don't know if they still take dogs. It is a perfect place for dogs because all the rooms open to huge lawned areas and you are on a peninsula so there is bay water all around. It is a great place for kids to. Lots of things to explore and the grounds are gorgeous...as I remember them. Haven't been there in a while but we used to walk our other dog over there just because it was so nice.
I live in Point Loma and would love to have our Doodles get together if your schedule permits. I do have some "mini" trips coming up in August and tied up the rest of July. Once you have your plans made, if you want, contact me if you want to try to get together. I just hooked up this week with one of our Doodlekisses members who is visiting and we had a great time with the Doodles!

Love Ocean Beach offleash beach. Great calm waters as you walk toward the inlet. I added a link to a video from our last visit, they had a ball. Have a great time, I am jealous!
I will check into these places. We are planning to stay for a couple of days in the first week of August. At this point, nothing has been set but it would be nice to have a meet to get some doodle energy burned off.
One of my favorite spots in San Diego is Coronado. But there are so many great places to see all around San Diego. Here are some web-sites to look at in Coronado; http://www.bringfido.com/destination/city/coronado_ca_us/ , http://www.sandiegopet.com/places.html .
You can walk from most resorts in Coronado to all the restaurants and the beaches including dog beach. It says that it has strong surf, but during the summer months the waves are much. I also hear they have a shower for dogs after playing in the ocean. Bear just finished all his shots and we are trying to dog socialize hime and plan to get over there next week. Hope this is helpful. Heidi
