I know dogs get car sick, Honey has had her share of that. Friends of ours have a boat and want us to go out with them for the day, so my ? is....Can dogs get sea sickness and if they do, what is the best to help them. They have never been on a boat, so I am really afarid to take them. What should I expect....my friends dogs are use to it (so they think this is kinda funny...but I don't want to get out on a boat and have sick dogs). Has anyones dog ever jumped overboard...this is another scary thing for me, Honey you just never know what her reaction will be, so I am keeping them both leashed for the day...if we go.

Lake or ocean?...makes a big difference, for me personally anyway ;o)
Our 5 month old pup goes on Lake Champlain with us every weekend. He has thrown up once on the short car ride home but that's it. Do your dogs get car sick? That might be a pretty good indicator. Ours has jumped in but only when the boat was stopped and it was perfectly fine. Good idea to keep them leashed as you said until you know their reactions to it.
Sometimes they go to Lake Wallenpaupack, or Avalon N.J. which is Ocean. Honey has been car sick in the past, but has not for a while now. They also do not like water. So I am apprehensive to try this with them. If they jump in the Lake I have better control of getting them back, but with the Ocean...not so sure, and than with Lisa's two dogs there they might just want to play and get carried away chasing each other and off the side one of them will go..lol. Lot's of IF'S.....
