Are there any out there? My doodle loves her soft toys, but (disembowels) them within hours. Of course I pick up the stuffing and squeakers right away so she doesn't eat them. She is now carrying around and old (once stuffed) rag that used to be a cute little frog. She loves it though. Are there any stuffed hardy toys that anyone can recommend? Thank you Deanna and Mango
We have a green and purple dragon from Petsmart. they also had pink and blue colors. It is the only one they pups haven't destroyed yet. It's got a different sounding squeeker too that's nice. I think It was $14.99 but worth every penny!
Yes, that's the same one I bought, but the squeaker quit squeaking after 10 min. and now there are holes all over the fabric. She loves soft toys but chews them right up.
If you like Go Dog toys (which are WONDERFUL!) they have a full line including bears, zebras, armadillos, rhino, etc. Generally, we have them in stock at Three Dog. I like them because they have flat bodies with just a smidge of stuffing in the head, but squeakers EVERYWHERE. The ppl who make the Tuffie toys also have a new line of plush toys. They are rated like an 8 or 9 out of 10. Those sold out quickly, so I imagine we'll have some more in soon.. Also Westpaw makes some wonderfully tough interactive toys -- the Tux, Hurley, etc -- and they also have a really simple soft, fleecy disc that both Connor and my collie love!
We also have some crocheted balls, that sound delicate, but are as tough as nails! The medium size is great for a doodle-sized mouth. The medium size has not stuff, just a very squeaky ball inside.
Oh, and Tuffies makes a large round doughnut-type toy that is literally tiger tested. It is rated 10 on a scale of 1-10.
The squeakers go quickly on toys when the dog bites directly through the squeaker repeatedly. :-) Sometimes I find this a blessing becos Connor loves the squeakers!
And whenever you come to Stony Point, your dogs are welcome in just about all the stores (NOT restaurants, tho) as long as they are well-behaved and on a regular, not extension, leash.
Hope to see you soon @ Three Dog!!
A Go Dog update....evidently Go Dog dragons have been favorites everywhere. We (3Dog) ordered them a while ago and they are on backorder. Will let everyone know when other Go Dog toys arrive, too. :-)
Nothing is indestructible, however, I have had good luck with Tuffies. A dog that will tear up stuff will tear up just about anything, but these have held up well with both our doodles. Mica is also very fond of the microfleece toys and braids. I make my own from microfleece scraps. She will play with those until they are just small scraps and then she runs around with the scrap (like your dog with her "frog"). :)
Exactly, I just three away three green shreds the other day that used to be the frog. Hoping the dragon won't go that way. I think it will last longer, but who knows. I could probably make the microfleece toys, at least I wouldn't be wasting my money. Thanks for the advice, I'll also look for the Tuffies.
In case anyone is interested...Today our shipment of Go Dog toys finally arrived! We have pink dragons as well as a good assortment of other Go Dog plush toys with Chew Guard. So if you have been looking for a pink dragon and can't find one, Three Dog Bakery at Stony Point has them! yay!! Hope to see you soon....even if it's just to bring your doodle by and say hello!

There are so many comments on this one, but figured I would chime in. I went & bought the Go Dog Dragon earlier. Gunner can destroy a kong toy in about 10 minutes. He has had this since 3:00 playing non stop, its now 8:00 & its still in one piece. Totally worth 15.00 to me. I would recommend it so far.
