Hi All, I am in the market for a clipper now and with all the choices atleast i have settled on getting an Andis clipper...But, now the confusion is which one? Can anybody tell me the differences b/w Andis AGC super 2-speed v/s Andis Ultra Edge 2-speed? Also, there are ultra edge ceramic blades...can they be used only with ultra edger clipper? Or any Andis blades go on any Andis clipper?

Thanks for all the responses in advance

I vote neither, I like Oster, has all the power you need, and gives a better clip.
What Oster model do you use? I haven't been brave enough to do Marlow yet, but am thinking about since $75 every 6 weeks is getting expensive!
I looked them up and I couldn't tell exactly what was different, I would call the store where you plan to buy them to see. But what I did see was that they both work with both kinds of blades.
Also, What about the Andis AGP Super 2-Speed Professional Clippers - Does anyone have info on these compared to the clippers listed above?
The AGP clippers have a square-shaped body and the UltraEdge/AGC clippers have a round-shaped body. :)
It looks like the AGC Super and the Ultra Edge are basically the same clipper, but the UltraEdge has a few additional features- a longer cord (16ft instead of 14ft), a more reinforced housing, and different colors.

And like Adina said, you can use any blades on these clippers. They don't need to be the ceramic blades. :)
So which ones have you decided on? Whatever you choose I am getting too! :) Seriously.
We have the Andis Ultra Edge (the blue one) 2-speed and are happy with it. We have used it probably 3-4 times so far so I can't say anything about how it holds up, but so far so good. We bought it off e-bay and got it for about half what it costs in the store.
Do you still like this clipper?
I haven't seen this post for a while...I went ahead with Andis UltraEdge with different size steel combs. It works wonderfully. I bought the cooling liquid also...It really holds up to clipping both my dogs. But they have to be matt free...It doesn't go thro' if there are any matts. But that is probably true for any clippers. I use 3/4" to 11/4" combs.
You can buy blades that leave a 1/2" ,the #3 blade, then you don't have to have them combed out all the way. The smaller the blade number the longer it leaves the hair. If you use the plastic combs, the hair must be combed out completely or it will pull and get caught.
