Hi guys, I have a question...Ollie is now 17 weeks old and I still cannot tell what his coat will be...It is different all over, he is an F1 gd. He certainly is not curley, he is sort of wavy, and the hair on the top of his head looks like it will be shaggy...I wish I could get a picture on here, but there is something wrong with my picture transfer thingy, lol...Need my son to come over here and see what is happening...Adina tried to help, but that didn't work either...Anyway, I keep looking at everyones dogs, and I am trying to envision what Ollie will look like when his baby fur is all gone...He is going to be a big boy that is for sure, he is tall and long legged too...Big paws....I was wondering if any of you had some pictures of your golden doodles at 4-5 mos old that you could send me, or place here for me to see...I was hoping that he would be full shaggy or full wavy, but I don't think so...I think he might have more of a retriever coat..Flat, but with some waves?..But he is such a love, lol, and what a character!!!!...Thanks guys...Cheryl

This is Murphy at 5-6 months, slightly damp from the pool, but gives a good idea of coat. He is a F1 GD. Soft, soft, soft fur, wavy to small loose curls on chest, and top of head.
Cheryl, ask your breeder if she has any pix of pups of the same parents from a previous litter? That MAY give you an idea of what to expect. Just an idea. Bottom line that I finally came up with is.....what does it matter? You're gonna love him no matter what his coat is like. Maybe groomer can guestimate?
You are so right, we are head over heels in love with this little guy....I was just curious in the differences in their coats...But he definately doesn't have Murphy's coat, although his face and fur on the head does look similar....Thanks for the reply....and the great picture....Cheryl
I am going to try to upload a pic... wish me luck.
The first 2 are not the greatest but the most recent I have of my pups. They have wool coats as far as I can tell. Motta is just wavy while Miley in between curly and wavy and thicker. the last pic is from about a month ago. they are 21 weeks now. Miley is 40 lbs and Motta 50. F1 GD

Wendy, they came thru fine, but the second one is sideways, lol, but too cute...I am thinking that he might look a little like the first one, though not as full...but he does have thickness by his neck and shoulders, so maybe he is changing again? I can't wait to post a picture for u guys to see...as soon as I get this picture thing figured out...Thanks for sharing...Cheryl
Hi Cheryl, here is a picture of Yankee at 4 or 5 months old with straight hair and then one recently with wavy curly hair. He looks completely different now. Their coats can change quite a bit once they get older.

Hi Linda, the picture that turned out is the curley one, the straight one did not come thru...
I can see it. Try reloading the page and see if it pops up.
It worked this time, and that is amazing that he went from so straight to so curley....Just got to love these doodles....Thanks Linda for sharing....Cheryl
I don't think you will know til Ollie is about a year old. Fozzy had a very shaggy coat and at 6 months I had it cut down to 1". When it grew back in it was a soft curly fleece coat. By 8 months his puppy coat started to blow out and it seems that he will have a curly wool coat. But we got him cut down again to about 1/2" to make grooming easier during swimming season, so we will wait and see what it looks like in another month or so. Go to my page to see Fozzy's transformation. He was born on 11-15-09 and I think all my pictures are dated so you can get an idea. If not you can see the transformation anyway. He is also an F1 GD.
Chris how do I get to your page?...I am kind of new here, so not sure how to get to your home page...I would love to see the pictures...Thanks, Chery
I found it Chris, ty, and it is amazing how these doodles transform sometimes...I guess we will wait and see whast happens with Oliver, lol...
Well Cheryl, believe me he will be going through those transformations faster than you think (or will want). It seems that Fozzy was small for such a very short period of time.....you could almost see him grow before your eyes!
