I just got back from taking Brewster to his first (with me) vet visit. He was weighed (30.8 lbs. @ 14 weeks), given his rabies and bordatella shots, a kennel cough preventitive, and 3 mos. of heartworm preventitive. Vet says he's healthy, just the right wieght, and will probably be a big boy! She also expressed his glands as they were full and smelly. Yuck...but better her than me! LOL
All in all it was a great visit, Brewster wasn't scared at all (but did NOT, however, like having his glands popped, poor guy!) and I feel good about the vet. Since I take him to the local Humane Society Clinic, I may not get the same vet all the time, but I don't think that'll be a problem. As long as he's familiar with the clinic and gets along with all the people he should be fine. Brewster has an appt. mid November to get neutered and microchipped, and will get his licence then, too. I like the Clinic because it is cheaper than a reg. vet and the proceeds go toward the shelter.
Anyhow, just thought I'd share. Yay for healthy Doods!
