I was wondering that myself! We have a just turned 8 month old golden doodle that is 46 lbs. and his parents were in the 40-50 lb range. He still seems like an awkward teenager with long legs and big paws. Maybe the long legs is just the poodle in him though :) I hope we don't have too much more growing to do...
Baker is about the same size as Beck. Beck is almost 8 months 24" 65 pounds. Same deal, he has huge paws and alot of loose skin. We don't care what size he ends up being..just more of him to love, but since he is starting to resemble a small pony in size, I am getting curious lol
LOL!!! Our four year old daughter even rides Brody around the house like a pony!!! We are sure that Brody still has a way to grow, I mean go. He's got loose skin and HUGE paws. How much are you feeding him??? Brody gets one and a half scoops of kibbles each morning and the same at night with 1/2 a can of EVO. I'm worried that he's not getting enough...
This may sound ignorant, but I have read a few discussions that said the minis stop growing sooner? Peri is 20 pounds at 5 months and is slowing down considerably. She was supposed to be 25-30 at full growth. I know they can always get bigger since her mama was 50 pounds....any thoughts? Great topic!
Our Daisy stopped at six months. Her dad is 1/2 std poodle - 1/2 miniature poodle. He weighs in at about 35 lbs.
Daisy has many poodle-like traits. She cames to us at 10 weeks and 6.5 lbs. She was the runt. She hit 35 lbs at 6 months and is now 32 lbs at 13 months.
Then we have Maggie who at 4-1/2 months is tipping the scales between 35-40 lbs. Same dad; different mom. She has very pronounced retreiver traits. We're afraid of how big she might get because of her unending energy and enthusiasm. We call her the energizer bulldozer.
