Yes, all the time. I even bought one of those drink well fountain type water bowls in hopes Harlow would drink from the stream of water. But no joy, she still sticks her bread in the water. :( I have just gone back to the old water bowl and keep a towel nearby.
i bought one of those when i became a 3 dog household...morgan's ear gets in that stream of water not his tongue...lol! the corgis, who know how to drink without getting their whole lower jaw wet, will drink from the stream on occasion..:)
Yes,,,,,,,,, Ozzy is now looking for me to grab the towel to wipe his face...he takes a drink then walks over to me as if he knows what is going to happen next.
Yes she is white so it turns brown!!!! YUCK
I keep the dogs chin hair relatively short and that helps. But calla drinks far more often and drips more with each drink. very lab like, I think. when I used to sit for my cousin's lab he practically washed the floor, well not really but he sure wet it down.
omg yes!!! i've called him "drippy face" since i adopted him almost a year ago! it's bad enough in the summer (we live in the desert btw), but it's just HORRIBLE in winter! it never fails he goes for a drink, then immediately comes to me (why can't he do something first??lol).
i have another comment, why is it that both morgan & wyatt (my male corgi) wipe their faces on the carpet (first one side then the other) after eating but morgan doesn't do it after he sticks his whole face in the water bowl (& why does he need to do that? the corgis just "lap" the water up with their tongues they don't stick their whole lower jaw into the bowl...lol)
I know what you mean Pamela! Immediately after drinking, Darwin comes and lays his head on my knee. Every time! Silly doodles.
I didn't think any doodle could drip as much water as Harlow after getting a drink. But I was wrong. Brogan practically streams water across the floor when he is done getting a drink.

I haven't been too troubled by Molly's beard, she doesn't generally get it too wet when she drinks.  But you might want to try a water dispenser, they make them for large dogs too, they look like oversized hamster waterers.  They are made the same way with the ball at the end to stop the water from dripping.

But it would still be a good idea to give them a good drink from a bowl a couple times a day.  (Or more if it's hot or they have exercised a lot).  Wipe her face when she's done and then have the water dispenser for in between.

My Stella is white and her beard and mouth whiskers are always wet or dirty.  As she likes the BBQ grill and it stains her mouth.  I have trimmed it but it's just so damn cute!  She too, puts her front R paw into the water dish as she drinks.  She also will blow bubbles, just before drinking, funniest thing for people to hear her do.  It's like she has a special sense of humor.

Does a muddy chin count? If so, yes. And yes also, to a wet chin after drinking water. I wouldn't shave that area. That's my favorite part of a Doodle...that beard and mustrache.
