It was cute the first day, amusing the second day, and now it's getting just plain annoying! Leo, 11 wks, loves his bully stick. He starts out moaning and groaning at it, but after a few minutes he's into full-on yipping and yelling at it. I'm not even going to ASK if this is normal behavior, but has anyone else encountered it and and do they outgrow it? For now, I just have to take his chew away, which is fine because he's had it long enough for the day anyway. But please someone, tell me he will outgrow this!

Well, it's not so much that I can't stand his reactions as it is...I thought the chewies were supposed to give them something do do and keep them occupied - which it does - but SO noisy! He literally sounds like Scooby-Doo when he's gnawing on it. Last night I could have sworn he said, "so good!" But I did video tape it....the first night he settled down a little and just gnawed on it, but the second night he just worked himself up into a frenzy over it!
That's pretty hilarious, but I can understand it could get annoying! LOL.
Clark tells me that when he'd give Cass pig's ears she would moan and walk around trying to find somewhere to bury them. In the house she'd stick it in some corner and then proceed to push imaginary dirt over it with her nose...so much so that she'd rub her nose raw against the carpet pushing this 'dirt' onto the pig's ear---there was NO way she was going to let anyone else FIND it. So I think it probably has to do with how 'valuable' a dog finds a treat/toy--for Cass it as just tooooo valuable to chew right then. Those bully sticks are like an amazing treasure to your Leo!
I'm going to head over to watch your video right now, but that it too funny. Sorry if it's getting annoying! Penny is that way with her Milk Bones. She will carry one around for the whole day (I kid you not). She'll moan while she's carrying it. She'll drop it on the floor and roll all over it, still groaning. She'll toss it in the air and have a frenzy. She'll take it into her crate, then "bury" it underneath the towels and work herself up by trying to "dig it up." She's in there snorting and digging right through to the plastic bottom - man, it's noisy! But it's a hoot.
Do you know what a bully stick actually is? Well I think your puppy does. His reaction is what mine would be encountering such a thing. LMAO! (well not the moaning and groaning part lmao!!!) But I would be yelling and screaming too..."Get that disgusting bull penis of my floor!!!!!"
I think that is hilarious.....as long as it is your dood doing it and not mine! Wow, I think he is really crazy about bullysticks and is vocalizing how much! I think you should try a marrow bone and see if he reacts the same way.
Not only is your description hilarious, but the video is too. I was unable to watch the entire video because Ned decided that he needed to get INSIDE the computer to help with whatever he thought Leo was vocalizing about. Too bad I don't have a video clip showing Ned trying to enter the computer screen!!!
