Changes to the Forum----Like or Dislike?

Because we have so many groups that pretty much cover everything...I've gotten rid of several categories in the forum (behavior/training, grooming, etc) and have left only these categories:

--Discussing Doodley Things
--Announcements for Members
--How To Questions about Doodle Kisses (for when you need tech help or navigation help)
--Nothing to do with doodles (for off topic discussions).

I then redid the way the Forum page looks so that the categories are separated. Have a look at our forum page...and then let me know what you think of it this way. Pop in again after a few days with your thoughts in case you change your mind after using it.

Is it more helpful? Annoying? Better? Worse? etc...

OK--so I made another addition that might be useful for those who prefer to stick to certain areas of the forum.
If you hover your mouse over the FORUM tab at the top of any page on DK you'll see a list pop up with an orange background:

You can then click on the category you want to go to directly if you so choose...or if you click on Forum at the top you'll get the new forum page with all four categories and the latest activity in each.

It will take me some time to get used to. I'm sure once I do I'll like it - you know it is just a learning curve issue.

I have a question, why is it when you go to The Food Group the Discussion Forum topics are not listed in date order like other forums? If I click view all, then each topic is listed by those with the most recent responses on the top (in reverse date order.) This is the only group I visit regularly that I have noticed this.

That's because I have it set up to display the topics that I think are of the most interest or importance. I can change the settings if people prefer it the other way.

It isn't a big deal, just one more mouse click for me. If you prefer it the way it is it is fine with me. I just wanted to make sure I didn't have a setting wrong or something.

Beth, both in the Food Group and any other group AND in our main forum.... if you click on "view all" you get a list of ALL the discussions and you can click on the display to re-order the list for that viewing. You can view "Latest Activity" or "Newest Discussions" or "Most Popular" -- this doesn't change it after that viewing but that's one way to check out the newer discussions that perhaps haven't been as popular.
