Hi Maryann!
I have been going the Romp & Picnic for the last 4 years. We went before we got Graci to experience all the sizes and shapes of these wonderful dogs. It is by far the best and the biggest...over 150 dogs last year and 300 peeps. There is 16 acres of old Oak grove..tables and chairs, even sofas, pillows and carpets on the ground!
I have made some great friends and people from all over the country. Last year I met folks from Az, N.Y. Oregon, Northern Ca... all with their Doodles. They have great food, wine, music and fun contests...( best kisser, best tail etc...) it is all done in the spirit of fun and charity! Hope you come ..it is a one-of-a-kind experience! Have you gone to doodleromp@verizon.net for more info and evite.
The close date is August 30th.
Hope to meet you!

I just tried to go to doodleromp@verizon.net, and it couldn't be found. I would love to attend the event. It sounds like so much fun. We haven't met any other doodles or their owners in our area. Tell me where to sign up!

Thanks,
Winnie and Oscar

Ill try something different to get you the information. It really is quite an event well orginized and the food is great. if you can go make sure you get there a little early. It is way up in the hill above Malibu, takes forever to get there.

Craige,

My name is Doe and I will be attending the doodle romp for the same reason you did: to experience all the sizes, shapes, colors, coats, personalities etc. I don't have a doodle yet, hope to narrow down my decision after the romp! I hoping to have the same experience you had this year!
Hi to all,
I am planning to attend the Malibu Romp in Malibu. We went last year with our Goldendoodle, Maggie and had the time of our life. I have never seen over 100 dogs off leash and not one fight. You didn't have to worry about your dog. The food they had was fantastic. I'm still trying to get the green bean receipe. I couldn't believe how they had a room outside for the dogs with a rug, couch, stuffed animals, and lots of pillows. You could get a great picture with your dog. I heard they are having a dog photographer but don't forget your camera because it is one of a kind opportunity to get great pictures of so many doodles. It is fun for you and definitely fun for your dog. Don't miss this great time. Hope to see you all there. Joe, Sally and Maggie
Don't know why this came up 2x. Anyway, if you have anymore info let me know. I hope I see you at the romp!

What does anyone think about bringing a 18 week old puppy to the romp. Tigger my youngest has all his shots, but he is still very much a little (19 pounds) puppy. I will definitely bring Roo who is 10 months old, but am undecided about Tigger.
Hi
I am going and have gone for the last 4 years in malibu. This is quite an event. I suggest you leave early from where ever you are because it takes quite a while to get to the event. Try to get there before all the tables are taken so you have a place to sit and eat. Otherwise you will be waiting for someone else to finish so you can eat at a table. Most doodle owners are very friendly and everybody likes to chat about where they got their dog how old who grooms ect ect. However there is a kinda snoody element there who seen to think if you dont know who your dogs breeder is they sorta give you the nose in the air look, if you know what I mean. But they are few and far between, most folks are very friendly. so hope you go, Dude and I are planning on going.

I bought my tickets. When we had our boy Dante, at least 6 years ago, we went to the first romp at Sharon and Phillip's place in Malibu. We had such a great time and it was a great group of people. I was really thrilled to see this event posted and hope to be able to reconnect with some of the doodle owners and doodles that we knew back then. Not sure if we're going to be bringing Buddy. He is 10 months old and will be arriving here in LA from Ann Avonlee Labradoodles in BC just a few days before. We'll have to see how things go. Looking forward to meeting everyone and their doodles.
this will be my first year going . my friend and i are taking our 3 doodles.
