Cagney brought up to the back patio the back half of a dead squirrel... we are not sure where the other part of the body is... we found the head... yuck... he seemed to happy to have found it... I was only hoping that he did not eat it ... or he was not the one to have killed it in the first place...I was worried all day that he was going to vomit some of it up.. ha ha
OMG Yes!! Hunter brought a lovely dead mouse up to the deck yesterday she was tossing it around and playing with it! EEWWW I am thinking that something else must have got it to begin with because (gag gag) its insides were coming out. YUCK - I of course screamed for her to drop it and got a shovel and tossed it in the woods. Then previously she has brought 2 dead birds to the deck - one had been dead for a while because it was as stiff as a board - the other one was so/so but still I am sure she couldn't have got them on her own. She always tries to play with bugs crawling on the ground - she puts her paw over them and then lifts it up and nudges them with her nose. When they quite "playing" she tends to eat them! LOL
Once a rat was dead outside near my sons sand box... it was quite dead.. Cagney went outside and starting barking... I could not see what was bothering him so much and told him over and over to stop barking... then I thought he was barking at his shadow... ( as he barks at himself in mirrors ) but no ... the then grew frustrated with me and went over closer to the sandbox and pointed with his nose and barked... low and behold and dead rat... thank god the neighbor was around to throw it into the field behind the house...but didn't it get stuck up in a tree... nuts I say just plain nuts...

Yes, Kona has that lab nose! We were visiting my parents house, they have a wonderful park like backyard. She found every dead half dried bird around and wanted to eat it like jerky. She then became her dad's little girl, because I wasn't dealing with it..... Good thing I brought the toothpaste and toothbrush :)
Yes!! Mine have brought me mice, birds, rats, baby rabbits (the most sad), moles, squirrels and - this morning - a frog. Some animals are more dead than others when they show up on the patio. I tell myself that they are just following their hunting instinct :P I only get really upset when they bring a catch inside. Lilo was caught licking a very dead mouse behind the chair one day. She did look a bit guilty when she got caught though.
Mine finds dead stiff cane toads then brings them to the back door for me to see. Yuck Yuck Yuck. All i can think about it the amount of germs that are on the dead rodent.
