My husband and I are building our new house, and I mean that we are actually doing the "building" of the house. Webster is now 7 months old but he has been spending most of his days at the new house since he was 8 wks old. Webster follows us around and sits and watches whatever we are working on. When my hubby was doing plumbing, Webster picked up the pieces of pvc and carried them around wherever Andrew went. When I was working on electrical, Webster found rolls of electrical tape and carried (and chewed) them wherever I was working. He also sniffed at the wiring when I was connecting receptacles and switches. When cutting wood, he carries wood around. Today we were laying marble and Webster sat and watched as we stood on the tiles and wiggled them to even the mortar. He watched and then tried to come stand on the marble (we wouldn't let him). Now, the house is on 6 acres and there is lots of room for Webster to explore. We also have 2 kids who are usually around for him to play with; but, no, he follows us around from room to room trying to "help". He'll carry the tools we are using or just sit and supervise. It's quite amusing although at times he can get under foot.

That is really cute. Take your camera and get a few shots to share with us.
I think that is very cute and sweet of Webster. You both must be his pack leaders for sure!!!
There are 3 of us in our family...Leo follows us around and is with one of us constantly. He is very uneasy if we are all in seperate rooms. It seems that his most comfortable times are when we are all watching a movie together and are in the same room. He is always with one of us and that also means touching us either by laying on our feet, up close as possible or with his big head on our lap.
SOOOO Cute! Love to see pictures. What a smart boy!
If you have little ones, look out for him "helping" with diapers...wouldn't want him carrying those around!
I don't have to worry about diapers, but he's not very good about taking out the trash :-)
That is absolutely adorbale! I'm with the others: pictures please!
Funny... now that you mention didn't it happen.... Cagney stayed outside with me the whole time while I was taking the morning glory vine's off the fence... he tried to help too by pulling on the vine... I had to stop him as I think they are poisonous to animals.. but he would not leave my side... it's funny how they have to be everywhere you are... it must make them feel good to help... the only time he did not help me and I would not let him near me was when I was painting the bathroom... I don't think he enjoyed the smell anyways...
Okay, here are some pictures. They aren't the best - he won't stay still when he's working :-)

Webster loves carrying the earmuffs - he doesn't like wearing them, though.

He was carrying this pvc while my hubby worked in the bathroom.

<I hope he approves of the marble job.

He found this sandpaper when we were doing something - not sure what. Now he just loves it and plays with it almost every day.
These pictures are so cute! They are such great helpers aren't they! At least this way you know where he is and don't have to constantly go looking for him. Our Sophie is my helper. Every morning when she hears the little battery broom turn on she comes and sits on whatever rug I'm trying to sweep. As I move she moves ..... constantly in my way. Now, turn on the big vacuum and they both take off running for a different room but they love the battery broom or the swiffer sweeper!
I am very impressed ... that you are actually building your house. You must have much knowledge that most people do not have. To be so handy is great.
Adorable dog, by the way!
Both of my doodles are helpers whether I'm in the bathroom getting ready/showering (they both lay at my feet or right outside the shower), cooking in the kitchen, watching tv, or most recently carving a pumpkin, they are always right there willing to add a helpful paw or tongue (whichever the situration calls for)!
