There are times I call Blake everything BUT his name...As far as nick names he has quite a few and he responds to all of them...

Blakenstein ( When he's naughty)

and of course.....BUDDY or BUD.....
Sometimes I hold his ears back and flatten the hair on his head with my hand and I call him The Golden Seal......

Murphy's nicknames include doodle bug , love bug, cuddle bug, doodle boy, Murphy doodle dandy(sung to yankee doodle dandy), doodleypoo, lovey boy, bub, bubby and probably a few more I can't think of. He is such a big suck and all he wants is cuddles all day and night long. Wish we could get him interested in fetch and swimming but he just watches the ball roll by and looks at you as if to say are you getting that cause I'm not!

When I brought Vader home he was 10 weeks old and already quite large - he weighed 17lbs - and my grand daughter was just learning to crawl - well he fell in love with her immediately - and knowing that he was going to be a large dog - he now weighs 98lbs - we started right away with teaching him to "be easy" with the baby and so he would go and lay in what ever path she was crawling so she would have to crawl over him and he got the nick name - SPEEDBUMP
