We are trying to get a group together next Sunday, the 15th (Doodles from Almond Blossom). Areas we are coming from are San Mateo, Redwood Shores, San Carlos, San Jose, Castro Valley, SF, San Anselmo. Some of us have already been to Foster City, Mt View and Hellyer Park in SJ. We are trying to find a place to meet that is centrally located so none of us has to travel too too far. Any suggestions of places or websites?
Is this only for doodles from Almond Blossom? Ozzie and I frequently go to Pacific Shores at the end of Seaport Blvd in Redwood City. It is not a fenced area but there are large grassy areas for play with some hedge/tall grass protection. However your doggie should be under good voice control. It's a fun area..not too crowded but there are sometimes other dogs there. No benches or water but one can bring chairs. Plenty of doggie bags and some areas where you can walk your dog around the office complex. Nice fountain in the plaza! The Bay is right there for swimming, if you dare. Ozzie and I would be happy to join you if this is not an exclusive group.
Thanks. No, it's not exclusive. We are just trying to get a bunch of us together who haven't met yet. You are more than welcome to join us. We met at he romp at Hellyer Park in April, I believe. I've heard of Pacific Shores but am a little concerned about it not being fenced in. Some of the dogs are under a year and even Lucca at 13 months doesn't always listen. Esp if preoccupied. We did go to Fort Funston a couple weekends ago and he was off leash and fine. What are your thoughts?
It seems that the Peninsula is the most centrally located area.
Do you know anything about Cipriani Park in Belmont?
We go to Foster City alot.
A local doodle romp! How fun! We will meet wherever you decide to meet. We were at the Doodle Romp in San Jose in April, and spend a lot of time on the beaches down here in Monterey County but that is too far south for everyone else. Just let us know the time and place. Whoooooppppeeee!
But no meeting place decided yet? I see there are a lot of people and doodles interested in getting together, but no place picked for this Saturday. Who wants to name the place?
Good, Sunday! That will work better for us. Where is the beach that you took the dogs and took the great photos. I am guessing somewhere south of San Mateo. Do we want to chance the beach in the middle of November?
Fort Funston in San Francisco. It's "dog heaven". Not a good place for a large group. It happened to be a perfect fall, almost summer day. Normally it's cold and foggy. Long hike, good exercise. At the top they hang Glide.
Remember, not this Sunday, next Sunday, the 15th. I am going to check out Lucy's suggestion at Pacific Shores in Redwood City this weekend.
