I searched the archives and I didn't find any mention of this organization so I am putting it out there. I found out about it accidently 3 years ago because I was looking for a summer session in Michigan to work on Luah's agility training. Anyway... I discovered DSA and subsequently went to their camp for a week with my dog. It was a blast and we learned so much together. I also have a local troop in the Cincinnati area and we meet once a month for dog socialization, guest speakers and training advice. We also have organized walks every Saturday at a different park and then we find a restaurant that allows dogs and we all go out for brunch together. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants to spend time with their dog and with fellow dog owners. Their website is: http://www.dogscouts.org/. Check it out!
If there isn't a troop they'd be happy to help you start one. If not you can still use all of the training information contained on their site. I have had great success with their methods.
Right now I am looking at "DSA Camp". I have also emailed 2 grups fairly near me to see if I can attend their event or meetings for a look-see! I may have the bug. It sounds right up my alley.....What kind of things do you do at your meetings?
