Anyone has synthetic grass lawn installed in the NY/NJ/CT/PA areas? Can you share some pros and cons and your experiences with them? does your dog like them or hate them? Do you have a large area or just a small patch?

I've been reading and researching online but would like to see if anyone actually can share some testimonial experiences with them.

I've been thinking about converting our backyard lawn to the synthetic grass product for my doodles. They just love to run and play on the lawn so much and the lawn is becoming a dirt pile with a bit of green on top. I don't want to limit their exercises and love to see them run free to burn out some energy, but at the same time, I am also tired of wiping their paws and full bodies after they are done playing. I would consider to re-seed the lawn after a few years though.

Please stop; I am of an age where if I pee in my pants, it will be misconstrued.
Is it ever correctly construed. Blame me, i put her up to it. we need a laugh to reduce the missing Adina tension.
Good night silly girls : )

BTW, very nice grass. Is it legal?
I'll never tell. Why do you think the dogs are so quiet?

Here is something funny. We had hired a company to look after the lawn before we got the turf. Had a contract so had to let them finish the season. DH told them to do the front lawn only. I caught them fertilizing the turf. Too funny!!! They couldn't tell the difference. DH called them and said it grew a bit.
Wow! This looks so beautiful.
Thanks for sharing this and the photos are great. Could you please share which company you went with and why you chose this particular company? installation was a breeze? do you need to regrade your lawn?

Also, do you need to water it in the summer to keep it cool? do your doodles chew the grass or try to dig it?
We went with the company AGL. We looked at several different products from 2 companies and AGL had much better quality turf. It looks more real as well. Installation was a piece of cake. They will only regrade if you want them to. I had them bring my lawn up on one side because there was a big dip in it.

Finn is a digger but he digs in my garden and not on the lawn. He did tear a little piece of it (maybe an inch) but I know the company will come and repair it, no problem. No upkeep necessary. It can get warm but it's not as bad as walking on my patio stones. It didn't seem to bother the dogs at all. I just hose off leaves or any mess that the dogs make while chewing sticks and stuff.

It is widely used for dog runs and kennels and they are in the USA. They have different kinds of turf but I can't remember the name of ours. If you want I can ask hubby tomorrow. He's gone to bed already.
I would be hesitant to put in artificial turf. As mentioned in this post, it does get hotter than natural grass. My daughter played varsity soccer in high school as well as club. She always mentioned how much hotter is was to play on artificial turf. Another thing to note is artifical turf can give you a pretty nasty rug burn. DD came off the A. T. more than once with rug burns on her thighs (slide tackles) even with her sliders on.
