I am a 2nd year Dental Student who lives with my wonderful husband and our 3 kids (our Labradoodles!)
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
We have 3 Labradoodles: Frankie and Johnny (from the same liter) and our new adoptee Rufus
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Rescue, Rehome
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
I had poodles growing up and LOVED them! I need to have a non-shedding dog and after reading about doodles and meeting a few my husband and I knew these would be the perfect dogs for us!
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
Watch TV, go to the park, take them to Petsmart and let them ride in the car (because they love it!)
Yes, the same breeder I got Murphy from Feb.2009. She is on the Recommended Breeders Group, Cliberdoodles. April Cliber is the owner. Tell her I sent you. She is very accomodating and knows her puppies very well. Murphy's brother lives just a mile from us and their personalities, although similar, are different enough and exactly the type dogs we both wanted for our different lifestyles. I am getting a female this time. Kennedy is the mother. Check out the site.
Your three guys are beautiful. Just getting our second in 2 weeks. So excited. Glad you joined DK. Great site, lots of good people and great information.
I am so glad that Rufus and you found each other. It sounds perfect. We saw a small doodle at a campground and chased the lady down to find out about the dog. I had just gotten a new laptop and had it with me so we went on-line to find out about doodles. We ended up visiting a breeder as we left to go home. We thought about it for a week and then traveled back to get Ned. Clancy is a rescue. Ned and I went to a fundraiser for our local humane society and a volunteer was walking Clancy around. I fell in love with him but posted him everywhere I could think of to find him a home. We waited a week and no one had come for him so we added him to our pack. That made four dogs - too many for us comfortably but we made do. Sadly, our oldest dog got cancer and had to be put down earlier this month so we now have three dogs - one is a Springer Spaniel. Ned is a multigeneraltion guy and his coat is non-shedding but high maintenance. Clancy is ??????? and sheds but doesn't mat. One of these days I will get that genetic test done on Clancy and see what he really is.
We went to a romp in our area last Valentine's day and really loved the dog park you all met at. Be sure to join the group in your area to find out when they plan their next one.
LOVE LOVE LOVE the picture of your Husband and Doodle smiling that you have here in your slide show t What a proud Dental Student you must be to have these smiling faces with you. I could not help smiling right back at the picture.
