About Me:
I live in Bucks County, PA. We laid to rest our dear West Highland Terrier of 17-1/2 yrs. last summer. We miss her terribly! My new daughter-in-law is allergic to dogs and I wanted to make certain I'd find a non-shedding breed to love. I did a lot of research and fell in love with the Australian Labradoodle. After a long wait, we picked up our little Jackson on July 10, 2011 at the ripe old age of 8 weeks. Amazing how you can instantly fall in love! I know we're in for a ride this 1st year but I know we'll enjoy it thoroughly and it will have gone by in a snap in retrospect!
What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
Australian Labradodle - Carmel colored in puppyhood like his Dad, but we're thinking over time, he will more than likely turn cream like his Mom. (Cream color really spreading on his nose at 11 weeks!)
Where did you get your doodle(s)?
Breeder
Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
The look, the characteristics, the intelligence. What's not to love??
What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
I power walk 7 days/week in a nearby State Park and can't wait to have the companionship of my dog! I do know I'll have to wait a year before taking on long walks up hills to make certain all bones are developed and strong, but it will be such fun introducing my new dog to the park. With my two sons now on their own, I might even consider going the next level to thearpy dog, good citizen dog, etc. Hope to do a lot of interesting and challenging things with my new companion.
Does your doodle(s) shed?
Nope!

How's everything going with your cutie Jackson?  Bexter is doing great!  Now if I could train him not to "attack" me when I come home from work...He gets so crazed and excited when I come home each day that he jumps on me & nips.  It takes about 5 minutes for him go calm down.  Then, everything is great.  By the way, I ran the Chicago Marathon in over 5 hours and it was amazing!

Thanks so much...and I am still figuring out how to find comments...they seem to show up in random places.  I'm sure they are not random.  I just don't get it yet.  In any case, thanks for the lovely words about my doodles.  I have Sam (currently 18 months) and Luke (currently 5 months).  Then on occasion you will see Penny (Sam's littermate and the lovely companion for my best friend Mary).  Obviously, Penny is exactly the same age as Sam!  Thanks for the compliments regarding their grooming.  I do the boys hair until it gets too out of control, then I bring in the help of a local groomer to get them tamed.  So far, it s 2-3 times per year.  :-)

Gayle - How are things going with Jackson?  I have been working during the day getting my classroom better, so I have withdrawl from DK and Bexter during the day!  It is hard!  He is doing well so far getting used to me being gone, but we'll really see next week cuz he'll be alone for 5 hours before Greg can let him out for his lunch.  UGH!  I hate working.  My classroom is looking good though; I'm just about ready!  I took Bex in the yard after I came home & threw ball with him until I hopefully wore him out, then took him for a walk.  He heeled GREAT!  I was so proud.  Doing much better (unless I had just worn him out before with fetching ball...) Bexter's angelic ways are pretty much over now, though.  He gets into EVERYTHING if we don't watch him like a hawk!  I need to go to bed early tonight - I have to run 15 miles tomorrow before work.

Hi Gayle!  I don't think I really totally get it about how the comments work.  I have a whole bunch I didn't know about...so that's why it took me so long to respond!  So, first, thank you for the kind words about my doodles.  I love them and think they are the best (for me!).  Sam is my older dog and he's 16 months.  Luke is the baby and at this moment is 15 weeks.  Sam is growing out from a pretty severe haircut he got in May.  I don't think I'll ever cut him that short again.  Luke is so brand new that he hasn't had a cut yet...except for a little trim of the hair right in front of his eyes.  I'm totally loving having a pup again.  He's so fun and a challenge because he's so different from Sam.  Sam was such an amazing dog, right from the start.  Luke has a mind of his own and isn't so sure he'd like to do what I'm thinking he should do.  He's a cute little mischievous clown!  Your guy is so cute it hurts!  :-)
