What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: Murphy, who's a (large) standard, black Goldendoodle and O'Malley, or Mal, who's Murphy's big Maine Coon mix kitty brother.

Where did you get your doodle(s)?: Breeder

Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?: Allergy purposes. I couldn't have a Golden, so I scooped up Goldendoodle.

What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?: We love going for car rides, cooking in the kitchen, and exercise. I'm hoping Murphy will be able to pass his Canine Good Citizen test sometime in the near future, so he can start working as a therapy dog.

Does your doodle(s) shed?: Nope!

Teaching A Water Dog To Swim

It's always amusing when someone comments on how I have to give my water dog swimming lessons.

Yeah, it's supposed to come naturally, but Murphy's never seen water. Before this summer, he'd never been in water. I asked the breeder, back when I first got him, and she said by the time he was old enough to swim, it was already too cold to put him in the pool. I actyually picked her up in Raymond, Maine where the other breeder who co-owned the litter is located. But Vesta bred Mazie. I'm so happy Mazie finally has a cousin! I hadn't been able to find anyone else who got a doodle from Vesta! Your Murphy looks a lot like Mazie, especially the black with brown highlights I see in some of your photos. And the giant paws! Mazie weighs about 70 pounds these days, and she's three years old. Tell me about Murphy! Nice to "meet" you both!
