Yikes - Coyotes!

Just when potty training was going so well... I'm scared to let our dogs out in the yard. Yesterday (in broad daylight) my daughter came in the house screaming. A coyote was running up and down our fence line. Daisy (2 yr old doodle) was running up and down with it, but she was inside our fence. I think she thought it was another dog. I read your suggestion for 'pokey mats' for counter surfing and wondered what exactly they're marketed for in the home improvement stores. Are they regular floor mats or something else? I'd like to give this idea a go, although lately Lucy doesn't seem all that interested in the countertops much these days (we're very diligent with keeping inticing articles off the counters). I could see how the pokey mats might be helpful if used on the floor, though, to keep Lucy away from areas we'd prefer she not go... assuming the pokey mats don't feel good to stand on, either.
Hi Kim! Just wondering how the pups are doing. Are they getting along better? Are they surviving the FREEZING COLD? What did Kalli think of all the snow??
