Diarrhea issue - no history of intestinal problems

Hello - I could use some help. About a month ago, the evening after a hike, my 10-1/2 yo 58 lb GD Cocoa vomited and the next day developed severe diarrhea. No further vomiting and she continued to eat and drink normally. I assumed it was something awful she ate in the woods, but when it didn’t get better after a couple of days I took her to the vet, who, no surprise, prescribed Metronidazole and Proviable Forte. He suggested Royal Canin Gastrointestinal food, but when I protested he said…See More

Glad to hear she is okay, Sadie is doing well, I think she has finally stopped growing, she weighs about 55 lbs. A couple of littermates posted on Judith's facebook page. I wish more would post pics, it's fun to see how they changed from their puppy pics.

Regards,

Linda

Hey Marcy, Good to hear from you, I'm not on this site very much either. I can't believe how much Cocoa has changed. Sadie weighs about 48-50 lbs but, Cocoa looks alot bigger. Sadie loves to go for car rides, she hears the keys and comes running. She is such a clown, shows off if we have not paid attention to her for a bit, rolls around on her back and her tail never seems to stop wagging. Judith is still breeding pups. I think she is planning a Whimsy litter for this summer. She had litters from Zeitel(her last), Yuki(her last) and Whimsy last spring/summer and Truffles had a litter of 10 in Nov. I don't think she has any problems selling her puppies in New England and upstate New York.I would get a 2nd but,my husband would kill me!! I posted a few new pictures of Sadie from Feb.I also go to goldendoodlescommunity.com website. Judith has a page on this website with some new pup pics. Take care, Linda

Hi Marcy, Any new pix of Cocoa? I just added a bunch of new ones to our page. Sadie is doing better in the car, we have been taking her on short trips, to the store for milk, etc. and she is much less anxious. She actually gets excited when she hears my keys and runs to the door and will jump into our cars. How about Cocoa? Spaying went well, Sadie was a trooper. Our first haircut was a little short for our taste, I think they got carried away!! Heard from Judith, 2 litters on the way for May and June, ready for a 2nd doodle? Sadie weighs about 35-37 lbs and is about the size of Magoo last fall. How big is Cocoa ? Hope all is well. Regards, Linda

Wow! She went to camp? She's one pampered girl! It sounds like she had fun. Well, enjoy your trip and we look forward to meeting you when you come back.

Hi Marcy, How are things going with Cocoa? Sadie is growing like a weed, 2 weeks ago she went for her last distemper shot and weighed 23.2 lbs. She can be such a goofball one minute and then collapses on the floor when she"hits the wall". I gave her some banana today and she seemed to enjoy it, also bought some plain yogurt to stuff in her kong and freeze. Thank goodness baby teeth have started to go. Of course the needle fangs are still there! Have you heard from anyone else who has any of our littermates? How did you make out with food for Cocoa? We give Sadie a mix of 2 kinds right now and it seems to be working. Regards, Linda

Hi Marcy,
Samantha and I live in Short Hills and would love to get together and play. We are in Florida until the end of February but when we get back let's set up a doodle date. We go to St Huberts to school so we are in Chatham every week but we can play almost any day. Whatever day of the week we have class I take as a vacation day (work for DH). We go to the South Mountain dog park in South Orange but we are open to playing anywhere. My year is fenced in also.
See you in March
Adrianne
