- Former personal trainer/lifestyle & weight management consultant, and natural bodybuilder. Originally an English Lit major, I returned to college at 40 to study physiology. Proud mom to 2 adult children and 1 grandson. Retired. Enjoy reading, gardening, computer games, and the great outdoors. Have lived with poodles and poodle-mix dogs for more than 60 years. Have been actively involved in dog rescue since 1998.

- F1 standard male, "Jackdoodle" born 11-28-2004. 80 lbs, apricot, adopted from a shelter in January 2006 at 14 months old.
From the day I brought him home, he has never had an accident, never chewed or damaged anything, never taken food from the counter, never gone in the garbage, never bothered the cat. He is absolutely phenomenal with children...a stroller coming down the street gets his tail going in circles. He sheds like crazy, and has lots of medical & psychological issues, but he is an exceptionally good boy.
My darling boy went to the Bridge on November 18, 2017, 10 days short of his 13th birthday. He will live in my heart forever.

- I really did not choose, or particularly want, a doodle. But when I saw him at the shelter, I just couldn't leave him in that cage! He looked so sad.
Really cute, really sweet, he needed me and I needed him.

Today is the birthday of good ole' Jackdoodle.
He's such a handsome guy cause he's mixed with a poodle.
With his big brown eyes, and his cold wet nose,
his messy kind of hair, it all really goes.
He has a wiggley butt when he's a wagging that tail,
puts a smile on Karen's face every time without fail.
So on this special day, a day that's all your own,
hope your tail is a spinning and mom treats you with a bone.

Today Jack Doodle is turning 10,

His big wet nose, and his long golden hair,

Only the best kibble to eat, but Jack never balks
So many cuddles, and snuggles too,with his mom, her name is Karen

Dear Karen, I haven’t been on DK much in the last 10 months. After I lost my husband to a massive heart attack Last August, my life switched into a different mode. It was many months before I came to. It was just today that I saw a comment on DK that worried me. Jack is gone, over the Bridge, months ago! I’m tearing up for you right now, because I know how hard it was for you to lose him. I just wanted you to know, that like all of your followers here, that I am devastated for you. Time has passed, and it sounds like you have a puppy! May s/he give you as much joy as dear Jack. Thank you for always being there to help us through our doggie issues. Lots of love for you and yours.
