- About Me:
- I am a Mom, a currently (and for several years now) not working Biologist, a wife, and overall I feel lucky and happy to have a wonderful husband, great (mostly grown) children, and sweet furbabies!
- What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!
- We have adopted our Othello who is now 17 months old he is a Labradoodle who was offered free to a good home on Craigslist by a family who was being forced to move in with relatives....they were having to keep him outdoors in the summer heat 24/7. We so love him!! He has a recently adopted sister named Ophelia who is a Chihuahua/Dachshund mix and is 9 months old, she was a surrender at a shelter...they get along very well, although Othello cannot seem to grasp the concept of her needing to take it easy following her spay procedure the other day. The dogs have two feline brothers...the kitten like Lotto and the very spoiled ( and half dog or so he thinks) Kris. It is a nice mix here!!

- Why did you choose a doodle rather than another breed or mix?
- We had lost the second of our two brother dogs to brain tumors and as a house is not a home without a pup or two in it I was searching for a good fit for us. My hubby is very active and missed having a playful, smart pup to enjoy spending time with. We had a lab in the past and he was simply wonderful right up to his last day at nearly 15! We were looking around and a friend who does rescue is always looking on CL for dogs needing to be pulled to rescue because the owners are not trying to really find a new home, but rather to get rid of them as soon as possible, etc, we worry about dogs offered free as they can end up as bait dogs etc....so off we went to meet Othello, who promptly spent the next hour playing Frisbee and running around with my husband, taking a minute or so every few throws to be a gentleman and spend time with me as well...he just really loved my husband so much...we brought him home that day...he had never been to a groomer, had not been on an preventative for fleas/tick/heartworm etc, so there was a frenzy to get shots, get him groomed, (He had over 40 ticks on him), get bloodwork for lymes and heartworm etc. In the last month he has become fully trained to basic commands, mastering each one in about 2 days, knows how to loose leash walk, and listens so well he can now go off leash at the dog park...he loves our big yard, is getting more and more fond of the big old pool in the middle of it, and is just a true joy!
- What are Your Favorite Things to Do With Your Doodles?
- We do so much together.....His favorite is Frisbee, I love to swim in the pool with him, walk with him, and I love to have him for company at night when my hubby works...he is so sweet!

- Nope!
- Who grooms your doodle(s)?
- Me and a professional....depends on what he needs at the time
- Favorite Doodle Products?
- I love the beef trachea treats I found, cannot think of the name of the company offhand, and we have none here at the moment
