About Me:: Hello, I am a single mother to a wonderful 15 year old boy! He is a big momma's boy! I am currently a student and have recently applied into the RN Program , I will know if I am one of the lucky ones accepted this summer! It has been a long haul for my son and I. He has autism and mental retardation . We have come so far together in life and strive to do better. I hope to meet some friends who can relate to our situation.

What Type of Doodle(s) do you have? What are their names? Tell us about your doodle(s) or any other pets you have!: My son just got his puppy 5 days ago! He has been very happy and content! Its amazing the bond that they already have formed! This little puppy senses that my son has special needs and I am currently intrested in getting his Lab "Alex's Special Shadow" trained to help him throughout his day and comfort him during times of distress. I must say.....at 15 years of age..a mother cannot help but wonder..as to what the future holds for their child as they merge towards adulthood.

Does your doodle(s) shed?: Nope!

Who grooms your doodle(s)?: I do !

I happened to see a comment you made on the Therapy Dogs group. I think we have quite a bit in common! My son with autism is 17 years old and we are getting a doodle pup on 4/19. We're very excited! We have taken care of our friend's doodle who understands some signs. Our son has very little intelligible speech so we definitely want to teach our doodle to respond to some signs. Have you seen that there is also a group called autism/other special needs? Just thought that one might interest you too, though I'm sure you don't have tons of free time!
