Referrals from owners of goldendoodle from AlmondBlossom doodle breeder in Northern Cal area

We are looking for a goldendoodle, and are meeting the AlmondBlossom doodle breeder in Northern Cal this weekend. We have requested references and would like to speak with owners of doodles (and possibly see their dogs) from AlmondBlossom doodles. Due to her concern for her clients privacy, the breeder suggested we contact the doodlekisses website and possibly an owner would contact us.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Thanks,

Hi Jim....there are a few almond blossom owners on this site so you should get a response hopefully =)
In the meantime read this recent discussion on choosing a breeder:
Thank you for the quick response. I look forward to hearing from them.

Are there any other breeders in the N. Cal area that anyone can recommend?
Jacque is very good and in N. Cal...she's a member here (you can look her up via the Member tab at the top). I think she MIGHT have an older pup or two right now. Not to disparage Almond Blossom though...I just don't know them as well...I'm sure they are fabulous too!
Hi Jim,
I have an Almond Blossom doodle! His name is Kachi & he's a 6month old english mini goldendoodle. Shelly & Julie from Almond Blossom are the greatest! My husband & I could not be happier. They kept me updated from the time of the pregnancy confirmation through the birth, and through the progress of the puppy growth. They emailed pictures to me right up until it was time to pick up our little guy. In addition to all the testing, they also had done personality assessments on the pups, and the trainer was there on sight when went to pick him out. We were able to see which pup's behavioral characteristics would work best in our household. I just can't recommend them enough! If you have any questions, please feel free to email me here on this site, or just drop me a question on my page! You're going to love this breed of dog!
Liza,
Thank you for the great referral for Shelly and AlmondBlossom doodles.
Hi Jim,

We are getting an Almond Blossom Doodle come Nov. 16th. We just got the picture of Tula's pups yesterday. Is that the litter you are getting from as well?

Karin
Jim - I know nothing about Almond Blossom but someone is also asking about them on the Doodle Discussion Forum. They are "recommended" breeder on that Forum. Don't take that as an endorsement although there are many very good breeders there, ...................

You may want to ask at the Doodle Zoo:

Hi, I saw your post and wanted to know how things went at AlmondBlossom doodles. I'm hoping to get our first goldendoodle with them but haven't been able to have much contact. I'd love some feedback. Did you pick up your new puppy or did you just visit? How do they match families with puppies?

I'd love to visit their ranch if they allow it.

Thanks
Debbie
Debbie,
We visited Shelley's home in Modesto. It is very lovely both inside and out. While they were not the fastest in returning e-mails, once they did respond, we were allowed to visit their home.

Shelley and her husband were extremely gracious, and we met her parents, as well, who were also brought up in the area.

Their home is spotless and Shelley has a nice quiet area set up in the garage area for the litter we saw. We were very impressed and have given a deposit for a mini-doodle which will be ready to go home Nov. 1st.

Shelley has evaluations done on the puppies at about six weeks to determine the temperment to fit with each family, so we did not pick out a puppy during our visit. Our 11 year old son, of course, wants a puppy that he can play (wrestle?) and run with, so we'll see which puppy is "higher" energy.

One caveat, if you do visit - do not visit any other breeder the same day or the days immediately before, as there is a legitimate concern for the puppies picking up a serious virus that may be at another breeder's location.

Let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Jim
Thank you for the feedback.

I live in Castro Valley, maybe after I get my doodle in the spring or summer we can get others in the area together for a doodle romp. I have't heard back from Almond Blossom yet so I don't know when they plan on doing another breeding.

I'll look for pictures of your new puppy after Nov 1st. Good Luck to you all.

Debbie
Are you looking for a mini-doodle (30 - 50 lbs), as I thought there were still a couple of openings in the litter (7 pups) in which we have a reservation? The sire is Micah - mini poodle, and the dam is Lily - an American Golden Retriever.

Jim
I'm actually looking at the European Mini's. And I'm not quit ready for a puppy. I'm mentally ready but I'm not realistically ready. I'm busy with work and volunteering at my daughters school so I want to wait so I can be fully committed to training the new puppy when he/she comes home. I think if she said I've got the perfect puppy for you right now I just don't see how I could turn her down.

Do you know if your getting a male or female or do you not care.

Debbie
