A DOODLE AND A POODLE! YIPPEE!

Yippee!  Yesterday we drove up  to St. Peterburgh, Fl., to the Fl. Poodle Rescue group and drove

home with a beautiful, one year old, black male Standard Poodle!  He is just the sweetest boy ever!

Mitzi is doing fine with her new friend, teaching him the ropes around here.  He is already eyeing the pool

and I am only concerned he will jump  in before he fully heals from being neutered.  Our only problem is that his name "Buddy"  just doesn't fit.  I hope we find a better name soon.  Any good suggestions?

Every time I see a black poodle I always think about the black standard poodle my cousins had when I was a young child.  His name was Baa baa.

He is gorgeous.  I kind of know what you mean about his name being Buddy.  Our late dog was "Buddy"  and it really suited him.  But a black standard poodle is so regal and poised looking.  I like the name "Cole"  or "Cola"  or because he has dark curly hair...you could use an Italian type of name like "Frankie" for Francesco or "Johnny"for Giavonni or "Louie"  for Louigi. (Can you tell I am of Italian genes?) HAHAHA...Have fun with this.  I just love him...you aare so lucky!  Hey there is another idea..."LUCKY"

He is beautiful.  I always thing doodles need goofier names and poodles need more regal names.  My childhood black poodle was, of course, named Pierre.  He was stuffed, but I loved that dog and his traditionally French name.

We have a Standard black Poodle in our neighborhood named Einstein! I agree, he will let you know which name works for him. I wanted to name our doodle Stella... she wouldn't have anything to do with it! Kids called her Marley and she came running every time, LOL :)

Again, thank you all for helping.  Puppy still hasn't "chosen" his name, but we are getting wonderful suggestions.

We really need to find the right one soon or he will be so confused.  Good boy, come here you, puppy! puppy!

Poor little (not so little) guy! 

But, he is such a loveable, nice boy.  We are so lucky to have him.  Today we take him  for his first check up with our vet, just to make sure all is well. 

We will let you know as soon as we decide on his forever name.
