A Whole New Meaning to Saying "Farewell to Somer"!

Somer met her new Mommy and Daddy this morning!  They arrived in Ohio from Wisconsin around 11:30 today.  Somer took to them immediately and
was very happy to shower them with Kisses.  She let her Mommy look at
her stitches (which she would very much like removed) and was happy to
get some belly rubs!  She thought that her new Mommy was very nice
because she brought a beautiful basket full of goodies for her Temporary
Family, even some antlers and rawhides, along with some Halloween
bandannas for Lucy and Sophie!  There were some beautiful Halloween
towels and some lovely fall items from her new Mommies garden in there
as well.  After spending a little time to get to know each other it was
time to get all buckled into her car harness and get a photo or two,
then she hopped in the car and was ready to go.  We've had one follow-up
e-mail from the road that said they stopped for gas and Somer got out,
did her business, said hi to everyone in the park, then just laid down
in the grass, a perfect little angle.  Car ride was going well, not a
peep out of her!  So, looks like this Chapter has ended here in Ohio and
a new one will be beginning in Wisconsin!

Lucy said she was just going to lay right here till Somer comes back!

Sophie said, Yes, She's gone, I Call Dibbs on Alpha Dog!  That bottom of the pack stuff is for the birds.

What a great "farewell to Somer"!!! It looks like she will be living a very happy life with a wonderful family! Congratulations to Somer and to new new family!

I'm crying AGAIN!!!! Another awesome "happy ending". Thank you so much for sharing Somer's story with us, and most of all thank you for being such a loving, perfect FM! Thanks to Lucy and Sophie too for "showing Somer the ropes" and teaching her that life can be good.

Sophie was sort of funny with Somer. She had to growl and bark at her a lot and she was never laying in the same room like Lucy was, but she let Somer play with her "ice cream cone", and NOBODY plays with her Ice Cream Cone! But she certainly doesn't like it when Lucy thinks she is in charge which she always does when the Foster's come.

It is so wonderful to see Somer go home to her new family. Hopefully it's not really a farewell to Somer and we'll see her often on DK. I just know that Lucy and Sophie told Somer all about DK and how much their mom loves it here.

Sophie and Clifford are on the same page as far as fosters go - although they were sharing the love seat this morning. (Clifford made sure he didn't actually look at her while she was sitting next to him.) What a wonderful job you did with Somer - and it seems as if you've chosen a great forever home for her. Our foster will be going to Wisconsin in a few weeks - maybe they'll meet up!
