What is going on with my Fredo,,every so often he will make a mistake and poop on the rug always same place. And this morninig I see a large spot on my rug and sure enough I get the white paper towel and blot,,,and yep he tinkled on my rug!!And he looked as guilty as can be!!!Now maybe with the rain he didnt go down the stairs last nite like i thought he did,,i dont know for sure,,But I never had these accidents with Cheech NEVER! Fredo just turned 2 years old,,and was always so good about never haveing accidents!!I could go out and come back 10 hours latter and nothing!!!I know he doesnt have a bladder problem cause hes been fine all day,,playing like nothing,,but when i go over to that spot where he had the accident he surley knows he did wrong ,from the way he acts!!! Has anyone had this happen to them,or am i makeing something out of nothing,,,cause I surely cant remember any of my dogs going backwards!!! You cant even get mad with his darn cute face!!!!004.JPG

sorry--not a clue--occasionally one of my doodles gets lazy about going out and will sneak downstairs in the middle of the night and go--always on the same rug in the same spot--it is like her "emergency spot"--I hate that and I now close our bedroom door so that if she has an emergency she has to let us know.
Do you have snow on the ground? Sometimes a dog will eat a lot of snow and then they have to go more frequently--we don't realize how much water they are taking in!
Ginny yep your right theres plenty of snow on the ground, here in Chgo,,and when Fredo comes in his face is always covered in snow,,so I hope your right,,so far so good,,Thanks for your input!!!!
I agree with what the others have said, especially about the refresher course in potty training. Also want to add to be sure to use Naturals Miracle or a similar product to ensure that all the odor is removed from the accident areas so he won't find them attractive again. If those don't work you might consider having him vet checked for an infection. He really is adorable! :)
This was my first thought. Because you say he is going in the same spot. Make sure you are getting it saturated really well with Natures Miracle to remove any odor. Particularly where he peed today!
I once ripped up a section of wall to wall with a carpet knife when I could no longer tolerate the aroma when our lab kept peeing on that spot! Short of that, Nature's Miracle is exactly that!
I bought that today, so i hope it works,,thank you Lucy!
I really believe it's weather issues. Chloe refuses to go poop at night sometimes and then a couple times she just went in the dining room when we were gone. In the summer she has a very predictable potty schedule the winter is a "crap shoot"
Anyway I had them out playing the other day and she was eating snow. She peed outside and when we came in she just twirled once right in front of us and peed on the carpet! Took her out and a little while later she did it again! She really ate a lot of snow that day though. Did I mention she will be 7 years old next month? Clean the spot really good and hopefully it will not continue. Good luck!
