"Ace"/Marco photos

[Lori, Daphne, Lucy & Pippa]

I had a previous discussion (Ace has been caught!) but the updates to add pictures was getting so long. These are pictures from Tues and some from today. Marco is doing incredibly well. He enjoys playing with toys, sleeping in a dog bed and goes willingly into his crate as well. While he does seem happy to be in a home, he is also still very frightened of most people and men in particular. He is very comfortable with me and is getting to know my daughter but if she moves too fast, he is frightened.

We took a short walk on a leash today and while he did not try to get away from me, I could tell he was very nervous. The smallest sound scares him yet inside the house he seems very comfortable with normal household noises. He is not frightened by my blow dryer, the coffee grinder or the blender. I sooo wish he had a "black box" like airplanes do so we could find out his story!

We have not made any decisions regarding his future yet. We are considering all our options and taking our time so as to make the right decision.

He is the sweetest Doodle! He wags his tail at me and has even given me a few kisses. It is so hard to believe that this is the same dog that was so determined to stay away from everyone even in the freezing cold. I have no previous experience with rescue so maybe this is normal, I just don't know. He has surely stolen the hearts of a lot of people!

He must have slept in a bed at one time. He does enjoy it. I have several beds around and he has been in all of them.

Lori, been following you here and on FB (just saw your video of Marco putting the toys in his bed). I'm head over heels in love with this boy AND your girls. It looks like they have been so sweet to him every step of the way. I know adding another doodle would be a big stretch but I'm sure hoping in my heart that he'll stay with you :) Everything about him says he's happy and "home." There is a list of heroes on DK and you are there --thanks for all you've done and your success with this sweet boy!

Thank you Cheryl! Im not sure about "hero" status but I appreciate all your kind words and thoughts! I has been a very long emotional journey for both Elizabeth and I. We are both very much in love with him and I would love nothing more than to keep him here. Unfortunately I just think it would be too much for us. I have a much greater respect for those that do rescue. It is not easy that is for sure.
