my labradoodle is addicted to bar soap.everytime the bathroom door is left open, which is never now,she goes straight for the bar soap.she will eat a whole bar.even ones that havent been used yet.i have never had a dog do that.the vet said she isnt sick or hasnt gotton sick from it.i do my best now to make sure shes not in the bathroom.its funny but yet its not funny.has anyone had this problem????
Maybe you could buy one of those cheap plastic containers that holds soap. It shuts tightly and she would not be able to get to the soap. Or maybe use liquid soap for hand washing. Just a thought.
Are bathrooms ever the same after dogs? The toilet paper now hangs from the ceilings. My rubber plug stopper--well that is a favorite frisbee toy. The shower curtain must be closed at all times.
While the tub is letting out the water the door must stay closed or I find a soak and wet doodle laying the tub water....................
I agree with Laurie. Liquid Soap. Maybe you could install a dispenser into the wall.
We had a dog that ate bar soap- it never hurt him but it was sure strange! A friend told me it was the fat in the soap that attracted the dog. We just kept the soap up high so he couldn't get it, but occasionally someone forgot and he somehow gobbled it up. Maybe there is a soap that would taste bad???
My 9 year old lab has done this since she was a baby, she hasn't had any problems from eating soap. Her favorite kind is Lever 2000! She will eat it from the shower, in the box if we leave the closet open or from the trash.
My springer spaniel had a fetish for eating bar soap. Apparently it didn't do her any great harm but, to be safe, we were always very careful of where the soap was put.
