I am in need of being distracted and keeping busy.... I have netflix and the ability to download just about any book that is available...

I can't get out and drive on my own right now so I can't get to the library or things like that.....  I am bored in between treatments and I was wondering what your favorite dog book or movie was.

I read the Temple Grandin (spelling sorry) Animals make us human and it was interesting.  Since I am about all things Jack I would love to watch a good movie and read some books.... Educational books, training books, food books, novels but for the love of God do not recommend Hachi that movie almost put me in respiratory failure I cried so hard.. LOL

Thanks for any ideas.......I tried to look on the internet about raw feeding as I am doing that and I found some groups but apparently since I am doing commercial raw and ground I am "not doing it right so I am not accepted"   Seriously.. that is funny.... truly.......

OH! A warning! Beethoven comes from a pet store... but at least the family doesn't buy him....

Lol...I won't hold it against Beethoven..but I may have to go find the Millie came from and harm them!

I really love "A Dog's Purpose" by Bruce Cameron, as well as all of Stanley Coren's books.

I heard that as good....thanks!!!!
A dog movie that a colleague recommended, but I haven't watched yet is Hachiko. I want to watch it just haven't gotten around to it. The movie trailer can be found by googling it... Looks like a great movie.

As for Books.... A Dog's Purpose (already recommended several times)
The art of Racing in the Rain.... (Also already recommended)
And one my friend suggested I read, but I haven't yet... Merle's Door!
Do not watch that movie unless you want to sob through the whole thing....seriously....my mom and I watched it at my house on opposite sides of the house and we heard each other crying...

The only good I can see in that movie is for people who mistreat their dogs or are considering getting rid of them..this movie will show how amazingly loyal dogs are.....

I heard Merle's Door was really good and I meant to read that a long time ago and I forgot....

Hey, I don't have any suggestions but I wanted to say I totally hear you about Hatchi. I sobbed uncontrollably through the whole movie, and for days afterwards. I've never cried like that during a movie before. It was so incredibly sad. I'll try to think of someting upbeat. My brother sent me "Love at First Bark" for Christmas. It was alright but not awesome. I zipped through in an hour or two. Maybe you could start a blog for dog book and movie reviews to pass the time.

Yes Hactchi is one of the biggest contributing factors to why I fear dying....because the thought of Jack even being half the way poor Hatchi was, is more then I can take....

I am not sure a group would hold up especially since so many, people already contributed so much information in regards to their favorite book or movie.....this really was enjoyable though and I am seriously adding as many of the movies and books that I can...

I never was a big movie or book watcher....I am much of a people person.....I would prefer to be out in the world doing anything involving people or dogs but since that isn't an option now..I might as well make the best of it and find some fun...and boy, have I......I know it may sound stupid but I was dreading this weekend....and it turned out to be so much fun just by talking to,you all and getting fun ideas "reporting" back my take on the movies .

It was so much fun and so nice..

Thanks....if you think of any more let me know!

Jennifer, what a great discussion!!!  Brings back lots of memories of older books and movies and lots of new ones for me to get!  Thank you!!!!!

This was a lot of fun... I was really wiped out today so I mostly slept but am about to get back to watching..... There are so many good movies already made and it is so easy to forget about them.. it is good to be reminded.  Most of my favorite movies are movies made years ago....
