A few months ago we picked up a super soft comfy bed for Lexi. She LOVES it. She loves it so much that she discovered she could chew off the bottom and pull out all the stuffing. I had been warned by friends that it's common for puppies to destroy their beds, so I didn't buy anything too expensive.

But now she's getting to the stuffing, which I'm sure is some toxic substance from abroad. And I'd like to replace the bed. Does anyone know of a durable, less toxic dog bed? I have a west paw nap mat that has really held up, but their beds all look like they could be easily chewed and chomped.

Thanks!

I have a couple "dog duvets" by Molly Mutt that I got from Amazon, similar to the beds Karen described.  I stuffed ours with old blankets and sheets.  Easy to clean, too, since everything can be thrown in the wash.  I don't have mine as full as they could be, so they're less structured than a traditional bed - she can squish it around and arrange it a bit.

Ellie also has one of the big beds from LL Bean that has an insert. (I'm sure the insert is probably a poly-fill, but it's contained within a nylon shell.)  The outside cover is really durable - but she's not a chewer, so she's never tried to chew the cover.

Yes, Molly Mutt was the company I was thinking of!

The MollyMutt idea is a very good one. Can you use the cover of the bed you now have and just stuff with blankets and towels and such? If you are a sewer, you can whip one of these covers up pretty easily and have it custom made for your decor. Im a big DYI'er so that would be my route..
