Dakota has Gastroenteritis or Hemangiosarcoma im so sad and scared.UPDATE.

Im beside myself right now and ready to pass out from this.Dakota is at the vet over night tonight and im freaking out.She started throwing up  yesterday and wasnt drinking her water as much as normal.and not playing as much and she has the runs. Then this morning she wouldnt even go near her food bowl.So i rushed her to the vet and they thought she might have a blockage.i told them i keep my house and my yard puppy proof and there was no way it was a blockage. They did the tests and i was right. No blockage. Then they found out she has an enlarged spleen. If its Gastroenteritis then they said its her spleen working overtime trying to fight off and trying to keep with the infection and flu like symptoms. But they also told me not to rule out Hemangiosarcoma.CANCER.My mom died from lung cancer 2 and a half years ago and i got Dakota to help me get through the loss of my mom.How ironic or something like that. They have Dakota on an IV right now and I feel like this cant be happening right now. That im having a bad dream.Ive never had to go through anything like this with any of my dogs.I try to imagine life without her and it hurts so much.Im trying to keep it together for Ozzy but i cant.He is really smart and i think he knows whats going on in a way.He feels really bad for me and is sad too.The vet sent away blood samples and will have the results tomorrow sometime. Its going to feel like forever. It already has. Please convince me that its just Gastroenteritis and not Cancer.

Good news Dakota has Gastroenteritis and not Hemangiosarcoma. Now i know she doesnt have cancer anywhere in her body.Other than having Gastroenteritis she is very healthy as they did all kinds of tests on her.So its like killing 2 birds with one stone. She is going to be on antibiotics for a while and she is very sick still. She just lays there and doesnt want to to anything but she will be fine in a few days and back to her crazy bouncy self. She isnt throwing up anymore and no diarrhea and she is eating again. So all is good.Thank You to everyone. You really helped me alot and i love all of you very much. You helped me to think positive and I did after reading my feedback from you guys.I also stayed strong for Ozzy and Dakota. So again thank you everybody.

Oh Jared, Im so sorry to hear Dakota isnt well. Just last week Cooper was sick so I know how you feel. My Dad died of cancer at the age of just 49, and just the thought of the word cancer terrifies me, so I can relate to that too. Try to be positive and keep us updated

Oh, God Jared! I am so sorry that Dakota is not feeling well..... I will be sending my prayer and huge hugs for you!!

Oh Jared, I'm so sorry! I bet Dakota is in great hands. Please stay positive and try to think about how you will celebrate her homecoming.

I don't do much praying but there are a few doodles and people that I am saying a prayer for tonight. All the best!

Jared - We all are hoping Dakota feels better quickly and that it is something easily cured.

So sorry Jared, that Dakota is sick.  So hard to see our beloved Doodles sick and suffering.   Have been there with Cooper this year and truly understand.   Hugs to you both.

Thinking positive thoughts for you both.  You sound like me when my children were little.  Everytime they got anything, I worried myself sick that it was leukemia.  They never had it.  Hoping it's just the doggy flu.

Hang in there Jared.  I'm hoping for a gastroenteritis diagnosis.  That is what Camus was diagnosed with after throwing up every 15-20 minutes from 5 PM one night until the next morning. I was scared and I know you are too.  Paws and fingers crossed for NO Cancer!

Jared, Dakota's symptoms sound a lot like Cocoa's when she had gastroenteritis.  She spent a few days in the pet hospital getting stable and they worried about several possibilities because it took her longer than they expected to recover.  In the end she had none of the other problems and gradually recovered like a early morning sunrise... and was fine in the end.  I have great hope that Dakota will also just start getting better from gastroenteritis- I'm guessing that would be the most likely diagnoses.  Hang in there!

Jared I'm so sorry to hear about Dakota being ill and in the hospital. I'm praying that is it something easily treated and she is home with you soon.

Sending positive thoughts your way.  8 paws crossed here that she is doing much better this morning.  Keep us posted.

Oh Jared - I'm so sorry Dakota is sick, please only think positive thoughts.  You both will get through this, I know its tough.  Please keep us posted.  I'm sending doodle hugs and prayers your way for you and Dakota !!

I'm so sorry that you and Dakota are going through this, Jared.  Try your best to think positive thoughts...although I know how difficult that can be.  Hopefully there will be some promising news today, and this is just a case of Gastroenteritis.  Sending prayers....please let us know as soon as you hear.
