That's what we call it when Socrates has these little fits where he either rubs up against a wall or the front of the couch...butt up, head down and just growls and sounds really ferocious! It's hilarious :) Sometimes he'll get up on the couch and nearly stick his head all the way between the cushions rubbing and growling. The more I talk to him or rub his back, the more he does it.
Then, after about a minute, he's done! He just stops and looks at me with his face all fluffed up like "What?"
Anyone have any idea what that is about or if he's just being goofy? That's how I take it. I usually ask him to 'tell me all about it, get it all out", and that makes him growl louder.

Ollie does this on the bed or bedroom floor after breakfast and it drives Cubbie crazy. Ollie is just scratching his face but Cubbie thinks he is trying to play so that causes Cubbie to bark like a mad man and pounce around on the bed. Not really what I want to deal with at 6am.
Sadie does this all the time although she doesn't growl. She rubs her face and does the downward dog position perfectly and then zooms around. If I tell her to wash her face she does it on command.
It is truly a doodle thing.
Darwin doesn't growl or make noise but he does bury his head in the cushions when he gets extra excited. He also rubs his face on pants, couches and carpets when he gets excited. Oh, and when he's REAL excited, he has a sneezing fit. LOL
ISSUES is Chloe's middle name...or is it her first? She does this and a whole list of other odd things!
Bender does this on the couch out of frustration when I scold him if he plays too rough with Zoe. it's pretty funny!
Zoe does this when she gets her teeth sprayed. And they both do it after a bath.
Kona does this when I spray her teeth too Joanna!!! Along with snorts and sneezes :)
Luna does it all the time. I think she's just itchy :p
G & M do it too....especially when they first wake up. I really think that Guinness taught his brother that this is what you do in the morning...it takes the place of brushing your teeth and having a cup of coffee.
Yes. We certainly do have issues. And, just now, he went into the bed with my very tired husband, rolled around, turned on his side, let out his " Wooey Calls" then grabbed a pillow, rubbed it, then humped the poor thing. Note to self, " Pillow case change"
So much for sleep with a dog who has not had his exercise yet today. Really, when they do this it cracks me up
